The Fortune-Telling Heiress

Chapter 305

Chapter 305

It was Owen calling.

Harvey gave a nod and stepped outside to give Madison some privacy.

On the other end, the noise was loud, and it seemed like Owen had just finished a fierce fight. "I just caught a few criminals and got my hands on a phone. I saw what's going on with you. Are you okay?" "Yeah, I'm fine."

"If anyone else tries to slander you, just reach out to me. I-"

Madison paused for a moment and asked, "Owen, when did you start catching criminals? When did you turn on your phone?"

Owen hesitated and didn't answer.

"If it's not convenient to answer, you don't have to."

He shook his head with a smile. "No, it's just strange that you'd ask me that. It was early yesterday morning. We received orders to apprehend some suspects."

It was early yesterday moming, the same time as her and Rebecca's birthday party.

Rebecca was truly a favored one of the heavens. It was as if any help that could have come Madison's way was completely wiped out.

After a bit more conversation, Madison ended the call.

Soon after, she received several other calls and answered them one by one. Just as she hung up, the door to her hospital ward swung open with a bang. Madison instinctively looked up and saw Dana rushing in with a worried expression. "Maddie, are you okay? I came as soon as I heard the news!" Dana scanned Madison from head to toe. "I saw online that you got stabbed! Where are you hurt?"

Madison blinked. "I just got nicked by a knife. It's not serious; I didn't even need stitches."

Dana let out a sigh of relief. "That's good to hear. You scared me!"

She sat down, placing her hand on her chest to calm her racing heart.

Since Dana wasn't getting up, Madison reminded her, "Sebastian is in the next ward. His injuries are worse than mine. He was in a car accident." Dana frowned at that. "Is he going to die?"

"No, he won't," Madison replied.

The tension melted off Dana's face. She waved her hand dismissively. "As long as he's not dead, that's fine."

After confirming that Madison was truly okay, Dana stood up. "I'm going to check on Sept. You rest well, Maddie. Don't worry about what's happening online; it'll be resolved soon."

Madison nodded. Once Dana left, she looked down at her palm. The spiritual energy she had gained from Sebastian flowed rapidly through her body, filling her with strength.

Two days later, a furious Harvey stormed into the hospital ward after finally having his bandages removed. Wanda was busy packing Madison's belongings, and she nodded in acknowledgment when she saw him. Harvey held back his anger as he approached Madison. "Are you ready to be discharged now?"

Madison nodded her head. "The injury wasn't serious to begin with."

If it weren't for Harvey insisting on it, she would've gone home that same night.

"Harvey, what happened?"

He let out a sigh and pulled out his phone, opening Rebecca's account. "Rebecca accepted the apologies from those fans on your behalf."

Madison glanced at the news. The top headline stated that Rebecca claimed she and Madison had a very close sisterly relationship. The latest update mentioned that she understood the fans were young and naive. As long as they recognized their mistakes, she was willing to forgive them on behalf of Madison. Madison was speechless. Harvey put his phone away. "I initially planned to hold those fans accountable, but now that she has accepted their apology..."

After all, Rebecca was the daughter of the Locke family and held a significant status in the entertainment industry. If the Locke family continued to pursue the fans after Rebecca had accepted their apology, it would not only affect her but also tarnish the family's reputation. "Maddie, I didn't expect her to do this. I called Rebecca, and she said the parents of those fans begged her for mercy. She felt sorry for them, so she agreed."

Rebecca's words were quite diplomatic. She first expressed her compassion, then emphasized Madison's kind nature, stating that Madison wouldn't want to see others' parents worried or scared.

Harvey had never thought of Rebecca as particularly emotionally intelligent or eloquent before. But now, he found himself realizing just how little he knew about

her.
