THE DEVIL HERSELF

Chapter 23

Rachel, Lucky, Lyric, Lotus and some other Clan members arrived back from their exchange in Algeria with the sun sinking low in the sky, casting long shadows across the courtyard. The triplets, identical in appearance but each with their distinct aura, walked side by side, their footsteps synchronized. Rachel led the way, her eyes scanning the surroundings with a mix of caution and curiosity.

They hurried through the winding hallways of their headquarters, the walls lined with ancient weapons and artifacts that spoke of battles long past. The atmosphere was tense, the usual hum of activity subdued as if everyone could sense the impending storm. Reaching Scarlet's office, they found her pacing behind her desk, she's a figure of authority and intensity. Scarlet's fiery black hair, tied back in a practical ponytail, mirrored her fierce demeanor. "DVV, we're back," Rachel announced, her voice steady yet tinged with urgency.

Scarlet looked up, her piercing blue eyes meeting theirs. "Good, you're just in time." She gestured for them to sit, but none of them did. The gravity of her expression told them this was not a moment for comfort. "I've received a message from our spy," Scarlet began, her voice low and serious. "The Slayer's Clan is planning to launch an unexpected attack."

A murmur of disbelief and concern rippled through the room. Lucky clenched his fists. "When? How soon?"

"Tonight," Scarlet replied. "We need to prepare immediately. We'll announce it to the entire clan. We must be ready."

Rachel nodded, her mind already racing with strategies. "What do we know about their plan?"

"Our spy has detailed that their leader, Santiago, is leading the attack," Scarlet explained. "But there's a twist. Bingo, Santiago's brother, isn't coming with them. He's chosen not to be a part of this betrayal. He's ready to receive Santiago, whether he comes back dead or alive."

Lotus finally spoke up. "That could work to our advantage. If Bingo isn't supporting the attack, their morale might be weaker."

"Exactly," Scarlet agreed. "We must exploit every weakness. Now, let's gather everyone."

The clan assembled quickly, the large hall filling with warriors and strategists. The tension was palpable, but Scarlet's presence commanded respect and focus. She stood on the platform, looking over her people with pride and determination. "Tonight, we face the Slayer's Clan," Scarlet announced. "They think they can catch us off guard, but we will be ready. We will show them the strength of the SCARLET SCORPION EVO X!"

A cheer rose from the crowd, the fear turning into a burning resolve.

As soon Scarlet turned back, Diego and Dracula followed her into her personal training room.

"How did you get this information DVV? We all know Santiago is not in a good frame of mind for years now but I don't think someone from his Clan can betray him" Diego asked.

"I know but he's fucking mistake is that he's accommodating my baddie and that's the end of him " She said icily, as she continued her push ups.

"Don't tell me you are talking about Arizona?" Diego asked exchanging confused glances with Dracula.

"Who else is my baddie? Can you both just leave let me continue my training?" She requested, no longer feeling comfortable with their presence but tried not to show it. Dracula wanted to ask her how she still in contact with Zona after everything she's done to her and their friendship?. Well she might be cold and heartless Mafia boss but that Ariana is till some where inside her heart.

Diego glanced at her one more time before walking out not minding his brother. As soon as they left the place, Elias walked in and series of laughter followed although Scarlet voice was wasn't heard because she can only smile not to make her brother uncomfortable.

As night fell, Scarlet didn't want Elias to be a part of the attack neither did she want to make his identity known to her enemies yet, so she asked her personal cook to drug her brother so that he won't know what's happening and won't come out either. She knows that he's strong and is capable of taking care of himself in a fierce battle like this but she can't shake off the feeling of losing him tonight and she might not survive that attack if it happens. Weapons were distributed, battle plans were reviewed, they took their positions. The moonlight cast an eerie glow over the landscape, the calm before the storm.

At the stroke of midnight, the attack began. Santiago led his men with a fierce determination, their war cries echoing through the night. But Scarlet and her crew were ready. The first clash of swords rang out, and the battlefield erupted into chaos. Rachel fought with a deadly grace, her movements precise and lethal. Lucky's strength and ferocity made him a formidable opponent, cutting through enemy lines with ease. Lyric and Lotus, working in perfect harmony, flanked their enemies, their coordination and speed leaving the attackers disoriented and vulnerable. Diego, Dracula and the other boys take down the guys with Axe's. Piper and Scar were trained sniper's before joining the clan so they were in an invisible place, killing with their sniper rifle.

Scarlet moved through the fray like a shadow, her presence a beacon of hope and strength for her people. She sought out Santiago, knowing that the key to their victory lay in defeating the enemy leader.

Finally, their paths crossed. Santiago, tall and imposing, faced Scarlet with a grim determination. "This ends now, Scarlet. You took what belongs to me and am here to get it back fool." he snarled. "Yes, it does end now. And I never stole anything from you just that you were never good enough to take up the clan in which your brother knows that perfectly well, but you just don't want to see it. Well, you will met your treble end today. Sorry sweetheart" Scarlet replied coldly. Their battle was fierce, each blow matched with equal force. The clashing of their weapons was a symphony of steel and sparks, each strike carrying the weight of their respective clans' destinies. Around them, the battle raged on. The Scarlet Scorpion Evo X fought with a desperation born of loyalty and survival. The Slayer's Clan, despite their ferocity, began to falter without their leader's guidance.

With a final, decisive strike, Scarlet disarmed Santiago and drove her blade into his heart. He gasped, his eyes wide with shock and pain, before collapsing at her feet. Silence fell over the battlefield as the remaining attackers realized their leader was defeated.

The cheer that rose from her clan was deafening, a mix of relief and triumph. The battlefield, now littered with the fallen, was a stark reminder of the cost of their victory. But they had survived, and they had won.

As the dawn broke, the clan began to tend to their wounded and honor their dead. Scarlet approached Rachel and the clan members with her expression softening with gratitude. "You all fought bravely. You all did and for am giving everyone a week to spend with their families"

Rachel nodded, wiping the sweat and blood from her brow. "We did what we had to do. And that's good for those who have a family can go but for people like me, we will stay here then"

"Keep up this mess before Elias walked up " she ordered going into her room to check up on her brother. Diego felt hurt because she didn't even ask how he was as Janet attend to his wounds. He has multiple stab wounds in which he got from saving Scarlet during the fight with Santiago, no one noticed it only Tyler and Ryder.

Bingo, who had watched the battle from a distance, approached them. His face was a mask of sorrow and resignation. "Santiago chose his path," he said quietly. "I did not want this."

"You did what you thought was right. Now, we must all move forward." Arizona said calmly trying to comfort him because she understands the pain of losing a loved one.

"He should have at least listened to me for once, this wouldn't have happened he's always acting stubborn and stupidly if not he would have still been alive. Lord Smith won't even acknowledge his death" He cried out bitterly.

"Lord Smith is a demon who will met his end soon enough by the people he call children. Soon alot if dead bodies will drop " Zona uttered, with a wicked smile on her face. They watched for some minutes before Zona dragged him out of the place.
