The Billionaire's Forbidden Longing

Chapter 95 Sense of Crisis

Alexander spun around and shot Ruby a frosty glare. She thought he was finally listening to her and reached out for his hand, but the look of pure disgust on his face stopped her cold.

"Who do you think you are, talking about Gaia? Get out of my project team now!" His eyes were like daggers, and she was so scared she stumbled and fell. He stormed off to find Benjamin.

When Alexander laid out his demand, Benjamin looked worried. "Alexander, Ruby's been with me for years. If she takes the data, the loss will be huge!" "She signed a confidentiality agreement. If she leaks anything, she'll pay the price! If you don't agree, I'll pull the whole project!" Alexander snapped. Gaia had him acting like a madman, and Benjamin just couldn't get it. "Is it all because of this Gaia?"

"Benjamin, she's worth more than any amount of money!" Alexander said firmly.

Benjamin was taken aback, then suddenly something clicked, and he looked at Alexander in shock.

Meanwhile, Allison was clueless about all this. She was having a blast at the beach with Cleo. They brought back a ton of seafood and had a big feast that night. That evening, Allison texted Alexander, showing off their seafood haul, but she was in Aquilonia, which Alexander didn't mind.

Allison: [Isn't it awesome?]

She added a proud emoji, and Alexander chuckled at his phone.

Alexander: [Yeah, you're amazing!]

After a shower, he lay in bed, tempted to video call her but held back.

Alexander: [Do you miss me?]

Allison blushed at his message. After a moment's hesitation, she replied: [Yes!]

That simple reply made Alexander feel all warm inside. But thinking about Carl made him frown again. Everything here was a shock, and Carl made him uneasy.

The next day, testing continued. Alexander walked into the lab with Benjamin. Even though he was ready, Allison's brilliance still blew him away.

"Gaia, you're something else!" he teased after seeing the program she designed.

Allison glanced back, frowning slightly, feeling a strange sense of familiarity.

But the experiment pressed on, and she didn't have time to dwell on it. They hit a bottleneck, and Allison tried several ways to link the key data, but it was too complex. "Time's up, we need to go!" Carl reminded her, but Allison didn't budge.

Alexander walked over and typed a segment of code on her keyboard. Allison was surprised to see it work.

She turned to him and smiled. "Abel, you're full of surprises!"

Alexander didn't say much and left with Benjamin. With the work done, Allison left the lab with Carl, but she seemed distracted at dinner.

"What's up? You okay?" Carl asked.

Allison shook her head. "Just thinking about the program. I want to meet Abel later."

"Do you know him?" Carl asked out of the blue.

"No, I just think his code is way more complete than mine. I want to talk to him to speed up the experiment."

Carl didn't see any guilt in her eyes, so he finally nodded. "I'll have someone go with you."

Allison shook her head. "No need, it's just a quick chat about tomorrow's experiment. It won't take long."

She changed her clothes and headed to Alexander's place.

When Alexander opened the door and saw her standing there, he was taken aback.

"Abel, not happy to see me?" Allison teased, seeing him just standing there.

Alexander snapped out of it and quickly stepped aside to let her in.

Inside, Allison glanced around and noticed a small program running on the computer.

"You're not supposed to block the network and connect to a satellite here, Abel!" She said seriously.

Alexander, hands in his pockets, looked relaxed. "Gaia, if you're worried about leaks, you can check everything here yourself. If there's a leak, I'll take the punishment!" Allison snorted and sat down to check his computer. There was nothing but experimental data.

Alexander said, "These are my personal designs. I don't want to share them with anyone, except you! Actually, I have some questions for you."

He showed her a program, and Allison got really interested. They started discussing and kept at it until late at night.

Urgent knocking sounded, and Alexander opened the door to see Carl with two bodyguards. "Carl, what's up?"

"Where's Gaia?" Carl asked urgently.

Alexander turned to look inside. "She's asleep. Keep it down!"

Carl's nerves were on edge, and he pushed past Alexander, rushing in to see Allison sleeping on the sofa, covered with a blanket.

"Abel, stay away from Gaia in the future!" Carl warned as he left.

He wanted to carry Allison, but Alexander stopped him. "I'll do it!"

Carl pushed him away and picked up Allison, giving Alexander a cold look before leaving without a word.

Alexander wanted to follow, but the bodyguards stopped him. "Sir, please stay in your room. You're not allowed to move around freely here."

So Alexander could only watch helplessly as Allison was taken away, feeling extremely angry and thinking Carl was truly detestable.

Allison knew nothing about this and woke up in her room the next morning, not surprised.

"Did you carry me back last night?" She asked Carl.

Carl nodded, watching her expression and finding nothing unusual, he relaxed. "Come to my study after breakfast. I have something to tell you." Allison nodded, finished the breakfast Carl brought, and went to the study with Cleo.

"Yesterday, someone posted your information online. Now several organizations are looking for you," Carl informed sternly.
