Chapter 96 Laboratory Explosion
Allison was scrolling through the news online when she stumbled upon her own photo. It got taken down pretty quickly, but not before it caught some eyes. The IP address was traced back to somewhere nearby. "Who the hell did this?" she demanded.
"We're still figuring that out, but it's gotta be someone from Dr. White's team. They're the only ones who could've leaked it!" Carl was sure of the base's security. The bodyguards and researchers were handpicked, and even though there had been spies before, none had ever given away the base's exact location.
Allison sat back in her chair, thinking for a moment. Then she turned to Carl. "Get ready to move. After today's final experiment, we're relocating. This place is going dark for a while."
Carl nodded, never doubting her calls. He knew her instincts were razor-sharp in a crisis.
But Allison's mind was on Abel.
Before heading into the lab, she intercepted Alexander.
"Did you leak info about me last night?" she asked, her tone sharp.
Alexander frowned. "Why would you think that? Do you really see me as that kind of person?" He looked hurt.
"Abel, I don't want to doubt you, but your actions could put us all in danger. I'm telling Dr. White you shouldn't be part of the experiments anymore." With that, Allison walked away. Alexander stood there, stunned, as Carl approached.
"Abel, head back to your room. Gaia doesn't want to see you until the experiment's over," Carl said with a smirk before heading into the lab.
Back in his room, Alexander called James.
"Someone leaked info about Genesis Creations. Find out who did it!" he barked.
James didn't waste any time and got his team on it.
Meanwhile, another group was closing in on the Genesis Creations base.
"What's the status?" someone asked.
"The woman spilled everything. She saw Gaia and was in the lab, but she doesn't know the exact location. They blindfold everyone, and it takes about two hours by boat," another person replied. They pulled out a map, and the leader drew a circle. "Search this area. Check every private island."
Just as Allison feared, once their location was even slightly exposed, it was only a matter of time before they were found.
Alexander got an update too.
"Mr. Carter, the info leak came from close to the island, but finding it won't be easy. Also, Dr. White's student who was sent out is missing," James reported. Alexander's face darkened with anger. "Find her now! If she screws this up, we're all in danger!"
He hung up, took a deep breath, and started packing his things. It was time to go.

Just then, the alarm blared. Alexander bolted out of his room. The bodyguards tried to stop him, but he took them down without breaking stride.
"The lab's in trouble! Get everyone out of here!" he shouted, sprinting towards the lab. White smoke was billowing out, and he didn't hesitate to rush in.
"You can't go in! The lab exploded! It's too dangerous without protective gear!" a bodyguard yelled, trying to hold him back. But Alexander fought like a man possessed.
Carl was carrying Allison out of the lab. Today's experiment involved integrating the AI program with the robotic arm, a critical step. But the program malfunctioned, the arm caught fire, and then it exploded. Allison had shielded Benjamin, nearly getting burned herself. Carl had dragged her out just in time.
"How's Dr. White?" Allison asked, her voice shaky.
Carl was fuming. "He's out. This place is about to be sealed off. We need to go!"
As they exited the lab, they saw Alexander fighting off the bodyguards. Allison was taken aback and moved closer, but before she could say anything, Alexander pulled her into a tight hug.
"Are you hurt?" His deep voice made her heart skip a beat. Why did he sound so much like Alexander?
Allison looked up at him, but Carl yanked her away. "Go change your clothes. We need to move out!"
She glanced back at Alexander before turning to leave.
As soon as she was gone, Carl calmly removed his protective suit and punched Alexander. Alexander didn't back down, and they started brawling.
The bodyguards were stunned, unsure of what to do.
Alexander and Carl went at it fiercely, neither willing to give an inch. Carl's strength was impressive, but Alexander held his own. After about ten minutes, they finally stopped, both battered and bruised. Alexander's lip was bleeding, and Carl had two bruises on his face. They glared at each other, eyes full of rage.
"You leaked the info online, Carl. You're a snake!" Alexander spat.
Carl looked shocked, not expecting Alexander to figure it out. "I don't know what you're talking about!"
"Do you not know, or are you just scared to let Gaia find out? You like her, don't you?" Alexander's sudden question caught Carl off guard.
"That's none of your business!" Carl snapped, but Alexander just laughed.
"You can't even admit you like her. Pathetic!" He walked away, ignoring the bodyguards.
Carl watched him go, frowning but not stopping him.
'He's right. I do like Allison, but some feelings are forbidden,' Carl thought, closing his eyes in frustration.
The base was evacuated quickly. Alexander and Benjamin's team were the first to leave. Before boarding the boat, everyone had to put on electronic blindfolds. Once the boat departed, the bodyguards reported to Carl. "Get the helicopter ready. Everyone else is leaving soon!" Carl ordered.
