Chapter 685: You divorce Hector immediately
The teacup shattered and the glass crumbs flew into Eloise's leg, instantly cutting a gash.
Eloise couldn't care less about the wound on her leg and just wanted to explain things to Mrs Darlington.
The Darlington family has been kind to Eloise, and she has done enough wrong to the Darlington family already, she cannot afford to do it again.
"I'm married to Hector, and have the marriage papers, and since I have amnesia and don't remember this, I can't marry Rowson."
Mrs Darlington stood up in shock as she opened her mouth and managed to squeeze out a few words with difficulty, "Do you repeat that?"
Eloise sighed and said what she had just said again.
Once again affirmed, Mrs Darlington slapped the table angrily.
"Divorce! You divorce Hector right now!"
"Mom..."
Eloise was not expecting Mrs Darlington to be so emotional and looked at Mrs Darlington a little overwhelmed.
Seeing the hesitation in Eloise's eyes, Mrs Darlington was as decisive as ever and said calmly, "I don't want to call off the wedding and the best solution is for you and Hector to divorce.
The law in the country is that a couple who have been separated for two years can file for divorce, you go and file for divorce with Hector and the law will protect you."
"But Mom... Hector and I are licensed after all, and I've been missing for three years and I don't even remember, so it's not fair to Hector to file for divorce so hastily ... "
The more Eloise spoke, the lower her voice became, and by the end it was almost inaudible.
Mrs Darlington's beautiful eyes were filled with anger at her words, and she sneered, feeling nothing but the utmost ridiculousness at what Eloise had said.
"I don't care what happens to Hector! You don't get a divorce and call off the wedding so it's fair to Rowson?!"
"It's my fault mum ... I'm sorry, I shouldn't have gone back on my word, I know it's not fair to Rowson but the wedding had to be called off and I couldn't be more sorry to the Darlington family." Mrs Darlington shouted in a shrill voice, "It's not the Darlington family you're sorry about, it's Rowson!"
Eloise's eyebrows quivered as Rowson's weary back came to life, and her heart ached as she said in a shaky voice, "I'm sorry."
"What's the point of saying you're sorry!"
Mrs Darlington's eyes were red and she cried out, "Why don't you think about who was there for you mother and daughter all these years when Rowson took care of you for so many years? You call off a wedding when you say you will, are you doing him justice? Why don't you feel your conscience? Doesn't your conscience hurt?"
It hurts, of course it hurts.
Eloise's breath caught as the pain of suffocation came through.
Touching her heart where it hurts so much she can't breathe.
She was in pain, with Hector on one side and Rowson on the other.
Eloise doesn't want to hurt anyone, but how is that possible?
She hated the idea of tearing herself in half, half for Hector and half for Rowson.
Mrs Darlington's cursing continued and Eloise listened numbly as her heart was cut with a wound that would not heal.
After a long time, Mrs Darlington paused.
By now Mrs Darlington's anger had mostly been deflated and, after taking a sip of tea, she said slowly, "So it wasn't too much for me to ask you to file for divorce from Hector, was it?" Eloise moved her lips and said, "Mum, you're right, it was Rowson who saved me and gave me a second life, without him I would have been dead."
Calmly, Mrs Darlington's sanity gradually returned.
At Eloise's change of heart, the anger in Mrs Darlington's heart dissipated and her tone softened.
"Eloise, take a word of advice from Mum, since you've lost your memory, you don't remember anything from back then, and you're not in a relationship with Hector now, he won't blame you for the divorce." Mrs Darlington looked at Eloise with an expectant look on her face as she spoke.
Eloise is having a hard time deciding... is she going to give up on Hector?
But at the thought of Hector's handsome face, his aching, numb heart began to throb again.
It really hurts...
Even breathing hurts.
Eloise reluctantly brought her attention back to the fact that there was no way she could refuse Mrs Darlington and said wearily, "Mum, just give me some time to think about it and I'll give you an answer." Mrs Darlington was aware of Eloise's difficulties and she stopped pressuring her and gave her the go-ahead.
"I'll give you a week, and in a week's time, remember to give me your answer."
Eloise nods her head.
It has been a difficult week for Eloise.
She needed to make a choice, but how was she to choose?
Eloise's appetite has decreased over the past few days and she can't eat after a few bites.
Across the room Rowson glanced at the rest of Eloise's meal and his brow furrowed.
Mrs Darlington must have said something to Eloise, but it's no surprise.
It's just a pity that all the efforts he made to avoid this situation were in vain.
He knew that Eloise was having a hard time and it was very hard for him to watch Eloise struggle.
Rowson lost his appetite when he looked at the food on the table.
Having just seen Eloise enter the study, Rowson followed her.
But he stood outside the door, but did not have the courage to push it open.
Because he didn't know what to say to Eloise.
Rowson's slender, straight figure stood outside the study, his handsome face tinged with a touch of loss.
The light falls on the man, gilding him with a light, warm colour.
He suddenly thought of what his own mother had said.
"Rowson, you wait patiently, don't you want to know who is more important in Eloise's mind, Hector or you?"
Rowson wanted to know the answer, even though he had guessed that the answer would cause him pain, he still wanted to know.
He wanted to hear it from Eloise herself.
With a few flukes in his heart, Rowson secretly hoped with that faint leap of hope that Eloise would choose him.
Knowing that it was impossible, he still held on to the slightest hint of delusion.
With a deep look at the closed study door, he took a step back and left quietly.
In the study, Eloise flipped through a few pages and couldn't read any further.
Inwardly, she has been struggling with the fact that since she promised Mrs Darlington, she would do it.
Taking out her mobile phone, she found Hector's number but hesitated to call it.
Looking at the string of numbers, Eloise felt the tip of her heart tingle.
After staring at it for a long time, he finally ruthlessly typed it with a trembling finger.
After a few seconds of blindness, the man's magnetic voice rang out.
"Hey, Eloise."
Gathering the emotion in her eyes, Eloise spoke calmly, "Shall we meet?"
The man on the other end didn't even hesitate and answered straight away. "Good."
You can feel the pleasure in Hector's voice through the screen.
But Eloise was not happy at all, after all the heavy topic to be discussed.
"No need to bring Solomon over. There's something I want to talk to you about." Eloise barked deliberately.
"Good." Hector responded with a smile.
Eloise then gave an address, which Hector carefully wrote down.
After the call hung up, Hector's face instantly returned to its icy coldness and instructed the stunned crowd in the boardroom in a cold voice, "Continue."
