Love Comes To Me

Chapter 684: Calling off the wedding

Seeing him stop, Ramm tapped Hall on the shoulder.

"It's not worth it to you."

Hall laughed bitterly, "There's no such thing as worthy or unworthy."

His voice was so raspy and unpleasant, soaked in high alcohol, that at this point it sounded like Quasimodo's voice.

When he met Marian, he admitted it.

Catching a glimpse of the emotion in Hall's eyes, Ramm was at a loss as to how to persuade.

Just opened a bottle of wine and drank with him.

No one can measure what is right or wrong when it comes to relationships.

A few days later, the Darlington family side.

As Rowson and Eloise's wedding is on the agenda, the Darlington family is busy with wedding preparations.

Mrs Darlington was in a much better mood, smiling when she saw people and talking about Rowson and Eloise's wedding with a happy smile on her face.

Eloise, however, was anxious and anxious, but Mrs Darlington couldn't talk about it when she asked.

Over the course of a few days, people have lost a few pounds.

Rowson took in Eloise's reaction with a sour heart.

Is it that unhappy to be with him?

When Eloise asked again about the wedding, Rowson braced himself for the loss and smiled lightly, "Eloise, don't worry, I was planning to talk to Mum about it tonight." Eloise's pretty eyebrows wrinkled slightly in concern.

"Can I come with you? It's something I feel I have to be the one to talk to Mom about."

Rowson shook his head, not wanting Eloise to get involved.

Reaching out to straighten Eloise's dishevelled hair, Rowson said lightly, "It was my mother who did it wrong in the first place, and it would be more appropriate for me to go and talk to her. You don't have to feel guilty, it's nothing to do with you, it's not your fault."

He was selfish and he was not willing to let Eloise go just like that.

Rowson looked into Eloise's clear, penetrating eyes and felt ashamed of his dark thoughts.

Marian's face suddenly flashed in his mind, and he remembered Marian's words.

"I can help you get Eloise."

Rowson admits that his heart was in the right place at that moment.

He chose to keep her by dastardly means...

At this point many thoughts crossed Rowson's mind and he dared not look at Eloise as he said, in some panic, "I remembered there was a document I hadn't signed." Eloise opened her mouth and before she could speak, Rowson was gone.

Why does this person say something is wrong...

But she didn't think much of it.

After Rowson excused himself and fled, he ran into Mrs Darlington in the kitchen.

"Rowson, what's going on? Why are you so flustered?"

Seeing Mrs Darlington's quizzical look, Rowson paused slightly on his feet.

"Mom."

Seeing the seriousness in Rowson's eyes, Mrs Darlington had a bad feeling in her heart and asked in a calm manner, "What is it?"

"There's something I want to talk to you about."

"What is it?"

Rowson is silent, he feels he can't open his mouth.

But when he thought of Eloise's nature, even if he didn't talk to Mrs Darlington, Eloise would have taken the initiative to mention it to Mrs Darlington.

Mrs Darlington has always disliked people who go back on their word.

Rather than that, he should be the guilty party.

It was only after helping Mrs Darlington to the sofa that Rowson spoke slowly.

"Mum, let's postpone my wedding to Eloise."

Mrs Darlington's eyes widened and she couldn't help but exclaim in a shrill voice, "What?!"

Her emotions were up and down and Rowson, a little worried, rushed to reassure her, "Mum, take it easy for a while."

"Rowson, what are you talking about? How can the wedding be postponed? You have to give me a reason."

At this point Mrs Darlington could not have cared less about the urgency of the situation, it was too much for her to handle.

Rowson took a deep, articulate breath and said, "Mom, the reason Eloise agreed to be my wife in the first place was because of your car accident...

It was something she had no choice but to agree to, and I think Eloise took a little time to accept it in her heart, even though she agreed with her mouth, and I didn't want to make her reluctantly mine. Let's postpone the wedding until Eloise is less repulsive."

Mrs Darlington was in no position to say no, after all, she had been selfish.

There were a thousand words to refute Rowson's words, but they turned out to be just one sentence.

"Okay, I promise."

Rowson was relieved to receive his mother's approval.

Remembering that I had things to do, I chatted with Mrs Darlington for a few minutes and left.

But Mrs Darlington's heart was not in it, and she had done wrong to force Eloise to agree to marry Rowson.

Today her son came to her for this answer, so I'm sure something must have been talked between the two of them.

It would be bad if Eloise and Rowson had a falling out because of this.

Mrs Darlington thought long and hard about it and decided to talk to Eloise.

The maid was sent to summon Eloise, while Mrs Darlington weighed the pros and cons and considered what to say.

Soon Eloise came down from upstairs and, seeing Mrs Darlington, called out quietly.

"Mom, you wanted to see me?

Mrs Darlington handed Eloise her cup of tea and then spoke, "Eloise, there's something I'd like to talk to you about."

Eloise sniffed and made a show of listening.

Holding her cup of tea, Mrs Darlington said with deliberation "I just heard from Rowson that your wedding is being postponed, is that true?"

At the words, Eloise visibly froze.

Delayed? Wasn't the previous talk with Rowson about cancellation?

She thought for a moment and then organised her words.

Lowering her head, she said to Mrs Darlington with an apologetic smile, "Mum, I'm sorry, I've discussed it with Rowson and we've decided to call off the wedding. I didn't think it through when I promised you that I would marry Rowson and now I'm calling it off."

Eloise's words seemed to be a thunderbolt in Mrs Darlington's ears.

What do you mean by cancellation?

Stimulated twice in one day, Mrs Darlington felt a little short of breath and couldn't resist interrupting Eloise.

"Wait! Didn't we say the wedding was delayed? How did it become cancelled again?"

Not sure why Rowson changed the cancellation to a delayed wedding, but Eloise felt it was important to tell Mrs Darlington the truth.

This opportunity is not stated, and I am afraid it will never be uttered again.

Calming her breathing, Eloise looked at Mrs Darlington and said seriously, "Mum you heard right, the wedding is cancelled not delayed, I know it's abrupt, but that's what Rowson and I have discussed."

As she said this, Eloise paused and followed up with, "I wish Ma would say yes."

As she finished, Mrs Darlington stared at Eloise with a complicated gaze, a strong look of non-acceptance as well as hurt in her eyes.

Eloise ducked her head guiltily.

It was a cruel thing to do, but Eloise didn't want to keep dwelling on it.

The air fell silent for a while.

After a long time, Mrs Darlington slammed the teacup in her hand directly onto the floor and said decisively, "I don't agree!"

Mrs Darlington's reaction is expected and Eloise understands that Mrs Darlington will not take it lightly, but she must try to convince Mrs Darlington.
