Chapter 916
"Karol!" Sherilyn crouched down, her hands reaching out to steady her friend.
"Ouch..." Karol winced, sucking in a breath through her teeth. Despite the pain, a smile was plastered on her face, "It's nothing, just took a bit of a tumble." "Here, let me help you up! Can you stand?"
"I think so."
With Sherilyn's assistance, Karol got back on her feet, being thoroughly inspected by her concerned friend, "Did you hurt yourself anywhere?"
"Nope." Karol assessed herself, then shook her head, "Just got a bit of a shock when I fell."
"And you say it's nothing?"
Sherilyn's eyes fell on Karol's arm, noticing a scrape along the inner forearm. Her brow furrowed, "You're bleeding."
"Just a scratch." Karol laughed it off, seemingly unbothered, "It's really nothing..."
"What's it to you?"
A voice came from the side, filled with disappointment, "Always sticking your nose where it doesn't belong. Why didn't you just fall and save us the trouble?" "Excuse me?"
Sherilyn's head snapped towards the source of the comment, her eyes blazing. How could someone say something so cruel? Were they really a fan of Caroline's, sharing the same bitterness? The Harrison family's security was already on the move.
"Mr. Nine."
Gilbert nodded, his finger pointing towards the rude fan, "Take her away!"
"Right away!"
The security guard moved in, restraining the fan.
"What are you doing?" Panic set in for the fan, her eyes widening in fear as she stared at Gilbert.
"Is this the Harrison family's territory? By what right do you have to kick me out?"
Gilbert didn't bother with a response, his frown deepening, "Enough. Take her away now."
"Yes, Mr. Nine!"
Efficiently, the guard escorted the fan out.
"Let me go! Mmph..."
With the disruptor gone, peace returned.
"We need to get some ointment on that arm..." Sherilyn said, still concerned about Karol's injury.
"It's really fine, just a minor cut..."
"Ms. Gomez!"
Their commotion had finally drawn attention.
"What happened here?"
A production assistant approached, his eyes bouncing between Sherilyn and Gilbert, his surprise evident as he nodded respectfully towards Gilbert, "Mr. Harrison."
Gilbert acknowledged the nod without a word.
The assistant then turned to Sherilyn, "What's going on? You'll need to touch up your makeup." "Right..."
Sherilyn looked awkwardly at Karol.
"I'm okay, really." Karol forced a smile, "You go on. I can take care of this."
With the crew waiting, Sherilyn had no choice but to leave, "Call me if you need anything."
"I will, don't worry."
The assistant gave Gilbert a polite smile, "Mr. Harrison, please, make yourself comfortable."
As Sherilyn walked away with the assistant, the area quieted down, leaving only Gilbert and Karol.
"Mr. Harrison." Karol bit her lip, gesturing to her arm, "I should probably get going too." "Mhm."
Gilbert nodded, then gave her a second look.
"You and Sherilyn, you're close?"
"Huh?" Karot was momentarily taken aback, then nodded with a smile "Yeah, we hit it off while working on a show together. We just clicked, you know? Sherilyn's great, @eally like her."
"Mhm." Gilbert acknowledged, "Thanks for looking out for her just now."
Otherwise, it would have been Sherilyn who ended up hurt.
"It was nothing." Karol shook her head with a smile.
After a moment, Gilbert asked, "Aren't you with Nexus Media Group? What are you working on these days?"
"Not much at the moment." Karol replied cheerfully, "Just finished a cameo in a series."
"Good."
Gilbert nodded, "What if I got you a spot on Sherilyn's current project? Would you be interested?" "Really?!"
Karol was visibly surprised and delighted by the offer.
"Absolutely!" She nodded eagerly, "Thank you, Mr. Harrison!"
"It's no trouble."
Gilbert's tone grew serious, "But I have one condition. You need to keep an eye on Sherilyn for me. Should anything like today happen again, I expect you to protecther just as you did today."
"Would you be willing to do that?"
