Chapter 977: These Two Things Are Too Coincidental
Since he didn't hide it, Edgar had to tell his parents everything that had happened.
Baggott was furious after hearing this, "Is there a grandfather or is there a Khan family in their eyes anymore?"
"All they see is power, where's the kinship?" Brimlad sneered.
Baggott shook his head and sighed repeatedly, too angry to speak.
"What about that employee now?" Eloise asked.
"Food poisoning, but it's not very good." At this point, Edgar's expression turned grave.
If Frankson doesn't survive this time, his family will surely come to the Khan Group.
At this point, Hector spoke up and asked, "Was he on duty alone last night?"
Edgar frowned, "Normally the warehouse would have two people on duty, one for the first half of the night and one for the second half, last night Frankson was supposed to be on the first half of the night but he switched shifts with a colleague."
"That means he switched to the second half of the night and then there was a fire." Eloise concluded.
Edgar nodded, "That's right."
"So was he unable to work the first half of the night, or what?"
Eloise was puzzled by this.
"Asked the others and he didn't have anything to do with the first half of the night, he was also in the warehouse."
Eloise narrowed her eyes, "Then doesn't that just mean that he must have had something to do with the fire."
"It doesn't necessarily have to do with him." Hector said.
"Why?" How could it not matter when Eloise thought it was on the cards?
"Because it could also have been done by a third party."
"Who?"
"No idea yet."
Eloise stared at him speechlessly, wasn't that the same as saying it for nothing?
Edgar pondered for a moment, "Mr Cranshaw told me that someone had called him and told him about the warehouse fire." "Who is it?" Brimlad pursued.
"An unfamiliar number, Mr Cranshaw can't hear who it is."
Edgar said and ventured a guess, "I think it's highly likely Arlice. he came to the office to see me after I'd finished dealing with the press."
At that, Eloise perked up, "Did he come over to test you out, to see if you were burnt out on this one?"
"Eloise," Hector lost his smile and rubbed her head.
I have to say, she was really clever to spot what Arlice was up to right away.
Edgar nodded noncommittally, "Indeed."
Eloise laughed out loud, "It looks like Arlice did ninety-nine percent of this."
"But there's no proof." Edgar smiled bitterly.
At these words, everyone fell into silence.
After a long time, Hector was the first to break the silence, "Check Arlice's movements over the past few days, you should find something." "Good. I'll get my assistant to check it out."
Edgar pulled out his mobile phone and called his assistant.
"Arlice is a very cautious man, what if nothing turns up?" Eloise asked Hector in a whisper.
Hector laughed softly, "Impossible. The most prudent man can be negligent."
Eloise took a deep breath, "Let's hope something does turn up."
Over there Edgar finished talking to his assistant on the phone and then looked over at them, "Don't worry guys, I'll get things sorted out." Eloise smiled and nodded, "I believe you, cousin."
Baggott shook Brimlad's hand, "We believe in you too."
"If there's anything you need to help, just ask." Hector said.
"Good."
With their trust, Edgar felt confident that he could definitely get to the bottom of this one.
...
Around 10pm, Hector received a call from Ramm.
"Prince, John has reordered a shipment of herbs and is trying to salvage the partnership with Bergerian." Hector frowned, "Any idea where it was ordered from?"
"All that is known is that it was ordered from the country and it is not clear exactly who it was." Domestic?
Khan family warehouse fire?
Hector's pupils clenched, could these two things be related?
Ramm didn't hear his prince's voice for a long time and hurriedly asked, "Prince, are you alright?"
Hector was pulled back to his senses, "Nothing. what's the commotion over at Bergerian?"
"There's nothing major going on. I'm still checking the location of those institutes."
"Keep an eye on SA Group and Bergerian and let me know the first thing you hear." "Okay, understood."
Hector hung up the phone and thought long and hard about John's reordering of herbs.
The quantity of herbs required by the SA Group is so large that it would be difficult for any domestic herbal company to stock them all at once, but it is certainly not impossible for the Khan Group.
Khan Group can be considered the largest herbal company in the country and stocks a variety and quantity of herbs that no other company can match.
It was too much of a coincidence that the Khan Group warehouse caught fire after John had ordered herbs from China.
Suddenly, a key point occurred to him.
The key point he hadn't been caring about.
That was before he worked with the SA Group and it was Arlice who pulled the strings.
Everything became clear in a flash.
Hector couldn't help but curl his lips, now 100% certain that Arlice had something to do with the warehouse fire.
He turned and walked out of the room.
Eloise went upstairs just in time to see Hector come out of his room and go into the study and followed him.
Walking up to the study door, Hector's voice was heard coming out.
"Check if Arlice has declared any medicinal herbs for export in the last few days."
Without a word, Edgar was confused, "Hector, what are you trying to do?"
"I got word that SA Group ordered a batch of herbs from the country, just in the next two days."
Edgar thought hard about it and his eyes oohed and aahed, "You're suspecting something to do with the warehouse fire?"
"Hmm."
Hector narrowed his eyes, "I had the herbs burned earlier to keep them from actually ending up in the SA group. In the same way, it's highly likely that Arlice secretly removed the herbs and then set fire to the warehouse to cover up what he did."
Eloise outside the door heard this and rushed in, "Hector, is it true what you said?"
"Eloise," Hector furrowed his brow and grimaced, "you heard that?"
"Just happened to be passing by." Eloise walked up to them both and repeated the question, "Is it true what you said?"
Edgar glanced at Hector and sounded a little uncertain, "I suppose, and actually suspect."
"No, it's not suspicion. It's certainty." Hector said.
Eloise frowned, "What about the evidence?"
The corners of Hector's lips seemed to curl up, "If you check, you have proof."
"If it was really Arlice who did this, then he really is too unethical. Not only did he steal his own herbs and set fire to the warehouse, but he also tried to use it to frame his own cousin." It's really absolute.
I've seen people with bad hearts, but I've never seen such bad ones.
Eloise turned to Edgar and said, "Cousin, you must not let him off the hook, he must be made to pay for what he has done."
