Chapter 224
Lemira watched as the Langstons walked away, a memory from her past life flashing before her eyes. Lucian had indeed been part of that event before.
Back then, Lucian had shined at the fair, thanks to the artificial intelligence system she had developed. Evelina, with her sweet talk and ability to mingle, was chosen by Lucian to promote the project. Yet once again, Lemira found herself forgotten in the background, with no one knowing she was the real brains behind the operation.
This time, Lemira wanted to see how far Lucian's company could get without her involvement!
Soon enough, visitors at the venue began to take turns exploring everyone's projects. When it was Lemira's turn, her artificial intelligence system dazzled everyone present.
One of the event's sponsors turned to Lemira, "Young lady, did you develop these on your own?"
Lemira nodded, "Yes."
"To be so accomplished at such a young age, which university did you graduate from?"
Lemira paused, "I haven't attended university yet."
Someone from the company spoke up for Lemira, "Ms. Langston was this year's top scorer on the exams, and she's been admitted to Orvin University. She's truly exceptional."
"That's impressive, young lady. You have a bright future ahead of you."
Everyone crowded around Lemira, showering her with praise. People from the Langston family couldn't even get close.
Seeing Lemira surrounded and celebrated, Lucian couldn't help but feel nostalgic, "Lemmy's really grown up."
Alaric's expression was complex, "Lucian, how come I never realized how talented Lemira was?"
Whether it was her gaming skills, her top-scoring academic achievements, or now her outstanding artificial intelligence development, she outshone Evelina, who had lousy skills in gaming, was sensitive, and had lower scores which had been nullified for cheating, in every aspect. Why didn't he see her true talent before?
Alaric had believed Evelina was excellent, but right now turned out Lemira was the best.
Lucian gave a bitter smile, "That's why we owe her a lot. We have to find a way to let her forgive us."
"You're right. We're family, after all. I'm sure Lemira will forgive us eventually."
Lucian nodded in agreement, determined to make amends with Lemira.
After the event, a couple of companies approached Lemira about potential collaborations.
However, she wasn't in charge of that aspect With Thaddeus absent, having gone to the restroom and not returned, Lemira had no choice but to collect the business cards and wait for Thaddeus to handle the discussions later.
Lemira called Thaddeus, "Hey, did you fall asleep in the restroom or something? A lot of people came by asking about collaborations."
"I, uh, my stomach's been acting up, so I got held up. I'll be right out."
After hanging up, Thaddeus
emerged from the VIP area, glancing at the event's chairman, "Please give thatyoung lady's project with Maple Group's Al a little push."
"Mr. Draven, rest assured, she's quite the talent on her own."
After making arrangements, Thaddeus called Orion, "It's all set, but with Lemira's talent, she's bound to succeed on her own."
"I just don't want her to struggle."
At that moment, Orion was on his private jet, his laptop screen filled with photos of Lemira from the event.
His phone pinged with a message from Lemira, sharing her good news.
His lips curved into a gentle smile as he replied. [Congratulations.]
His assistant, who had never seen
the boss smile so warmly, respectfully reminded him, "Mr. Everhart, your trip is finally over. It's getting harder to keep Mrs. Eileen Everhart and Mrs. Amanda Everhart in the dark."
About Mr. Langston staying in Lyria, no one knew at present, nor did everyone know his extended stay was all because of a girl.
If the Everharts found out, it would surely cause an uproar, especially since the master was already betrothed.
