Chapter 0904

Sawyer answered, “Alright.”

Soon, Miranda entered the house, “Grandma, did you call for me?”

“Come here, Miranda,” Fiona beckoned her over. “Let me introduce you to the young scion of the Jensen family, Sawyer Jensen. You two probably met during the birthday banquet.”

“Nice to meet you,” Miranda greeted him first.

She did have a vague impression of him. Sawyer performed a magic trick for Aren at the banquet. He turned an apple into a banner with the words “Happy Birthday” on it. He gifted them to the couple.

His effort in preparing the performance was quite thoughtful.

“Hello, nice to meet you!” Sawyer shot up from the couch the moment Miranda walked in. His expression was a mix of anticipation and nervousness. He looked a little awkward as well. His breathing became visibly flustered when Miranda greeted him.

At that moment, Fiona said, “Sawyer has a small favor to ask you.”

Miranda turned to Sawyer, who explained the reason for his visit. He said, “Can I get your contact number? I’d like to connect you to my cousin for convenience. Don’t worry. She is very considerate and won’t bother you too often.”

Miranda could only comply now that he had put it this way. She took out her phone, and they exchanged contact details. Sawyer immediately forwarded Miranda’s contact to his

cousin.

She received a friend request shortly after. It seemed that Sawyer was genuine in asking

Miranda’s number for his cousin.

Miranda didn’t overthink things and said, “I spend most of my time in the lab, and I might not check my phone for a long time if I’m busy. My replies could be delayed.”

“That’s no problem at all! You just focus on your work and reply to her whenever you have the time. By the way, is the lab you’re in part of the college?”

Miranda answered, “No.”

This naturally led to the conversation about Infinity Lab, how it was set up, and so on…

Sawyer seemed to have a lot of questions. After one topic ended, he moved to another. Miranda answered all his questions patiently out of politeness.

Meanwhile, Paul and Sam couldn’t sit still when they noticed her prolonged absence. They came over from the strawberry field.

Seeing this, Joli quickly followed them. As soon as they stepped inside the house, they saw Sawyer hovering around Miranda like a fly.

Sam was taken aback. Why was there another one? These people never knew when to stop!

Paul’s expression darkened. Both of their gazes landed on Sawyer simultaneously.

Sawyer seemed to sense their burning gazes boring into him despite being entirely focused on Miranda at first. There was no way around it. The weight of their gazes was impossible to ignore.

He turned his head to look at them. His gaze was immediately met with Sam’s piercing glare. Next, he noticed the intense depths of Paul’s eyes.

Sawyer’s breath caught in his chest, and a chill ran down his spine.

Joli was the last person to enter. He shivered inexplicably, and he wondered why it felt so chilly all of a sudden. Swallowing hard, he stopped in his tracks and quietly took a few steps back.

Suddenly, Sam let out a chuckle, breaking the awkward atmosphere. “Mr. Jensen, what a rare guest. You seem to have a lot to say to Mimi, don’t you?”

Sawyer hesitated for a moment. “I just had a few questions.”

“Oh? Mr. Jensen, are you also into research?”

He remained silent as Sam continued his barrage of questions, “Do you do academic work? Do you write papers?”

Sawyer let out a dry laugh. “Well… no.”

“Oh, right. I almost forgot that you’ve already graduated long ago. You must be managing the family business now, right?”

“Yes, that’s right.”

“Mimi doesn’t understand anything about business. Don’t bother asking those irrelevant questions. It’s just a waste of both your time and hers, don’t you think?”

Sawyer frowned as he looked at Sam in confusion. He couldn’t figure out why Sam was so hostile to him. Did he ever offend him?
