Unexpected Encounter with my Boss (Vincent and Tiffany)

Chapter 159

Tiffany was dumbfounded. She looked at Vincent dazedly with the scarf wrapped around her. "What do you mean by that, Mr. Lewis?" "I mean what I said." He rubbed her head. "Don't stress yourself out about this. I'll bear the responsibility for the things I've done."

He would bear the responsibility?

"What about Kelly?"

He frowned. "I'll deal with her."

The car started moving. Vincent rubbed her head again before wrapping an arm around her shoulders. Then, he pulled her into his arms.

Tiffany stiffened. She pushed him away and mumbled, "I'm pregnant, Mr. Lewis."

He frowned. "Are you still thinking about marrying William?"

Her heart twinged. It wasn't because he'd brought William up; it was because she felt horrible lying to Vincent. "He... he's the baby's father, after all..."

Vincent stared at her for a few seconds before letting out an exasperated laugh. "I honestly don't know what to say about you, Tiffany."

What could he say? That she was stubborn? Or that she had a one-track mind? He wanted to snap at someone but couldn't bring himself to be harsh with her. Tiffany looked down at her knees and said, "Everything will be fine if you can accept this, Mr. Lewis."

"What's there to accept?"

She paused and looked up at him. "That you'll be my baby's stepfather."

"Tiffany!" His expression darkened. "I can accept you being pregnant with anyone else's baby, but William is the exception to the rule."

Joyce and William were enough to annoy him. If he had to listen to William's child address him as his father... No way would he allow that to happen! Tiffany nodded and said in a small voice, "Well, there's nothing else for us to talk about, then."

Vincent gritted his teeth, looking like he couldn't stand her weakness. "Are you still willing to have the baby with how things are?"

"Yeah." Tiffany was as stubborn as a mule. "It's a life."

He turned away from her angrily. He didn't want to look at her anymore. After a moment, he said grimly, "Don't ever look down upon yourself, Tiffany." His words caused her heart to ache. She bit her lip and bowed her head without responding.

This was how things were meant to be between them. No matter what, she couldn't destroy his relationship with Kelly.

Their first time together had been an

accident, it hadn't been within her control Besides, she hadn't known about Vincent and Kelly's

nove

relationship at the time.

Even if she'd done something wrong, it hadn't happened on purpose. She could still convince herself not to let it weigh on her conscience.

But if she were to do it again, she would be making herself out to be cheap and unscrupulous.

When they arrived outside Tiffany's dormitory building, she got out of the car and left. Vincent didn't leave immediately. He remained in the car and watched as she entered the building.

She only heard the sound of the engine revving once she was inside the dorm. The sound soon faded.

Vincent was truly a great guy. He looked cold but was warmer than William had been.

He was also more considerate. Even if he was mad at her, he wouldn't leave her behind or throw a hissy fit. He was a proper gentleman.

Tiffany placed a hand on her belly.

She murmured, "If he didn't have Kelly by his side, I would've considered getting together with him. But now... Don't blame me for this, sweetie. I can't give you a good life, and I'm worried you'll end up like those kids in orphanages can only..."

She shut her eyes, unable to finish her sentence. She could only allow her tears to silently stream down her face.
