Under the Heiress' Facade

Chapter 707

Chapter 707

Linda clenched her fists tightly. So, Stephen had betrayed her. Otherwise, Hera wouldn't have successfully exposed her. If only the time bomb had reduced Hera to ashes.

"Planting bombs, causing panic, and instigating others to murder whether it's directly or indirectly-Daphne, Queenie, Isabella, and Madison... All these crimes are enough to sentence you to death!" Nathan banged on the table while reminding Linda.

"Don't expect the Killians to protect you. Chad Killian has already dismissed Rhett Killian from his duties as CEO due to the investigation. Besides, Frederick Killian is still missing. I'm sure you want to see him one last time before the execution, right?"

After hearing that, Linda's initial stubbornness to confess anything instantly crumbled. She decided to give in.

"Yes, I asked Queenie to kill Daphne!" she said while looking down.

Nathan asked, "Why did you do that?"

"She knew too much!" Linda's expression turned sinister while speaking.

Nathan narrowed his eyes. "What did she know?"

Linda did not continue and began to mock Nathan, "Isn't the police usually very capable? You can go find out for yourselves!"

"Did Daphne discover who actually murdered Greg Killian? Is that why you became frightened and decided to have her killed?" Nathan asked tentatively.

Linda's expression darkened. "I don't know. You can't trick me into answering!"

"I advise you to tell me the truth of what happened that year! You'll be redeeming yourself for the crimes you've done. I can even help you avoid the death penalty!" Nathan exclaimed in a threatening manner.

"You're saying that I can escape the death sentence, but I'll still have to pay for my crimes, right?" Linda asked.

"You might be able to fool others with that, but not me! Don't think I don't know that you police officers are very cunning. After tricking others into confessing their crimes, you'll still punish them accordingly."

Linda's words rendered Nathan speechless.

Later, no matter how Nathan interrogated Linda, she only admitted to ordering Queenie to hire Robin to kill Daphne in a car crash. But she refused to reveal any more information.

After watching the video, Hera couldn't help but clench her fists. Linda definitely knew that Lucius was wrongly accused, but she refused to say a word.

Her unintentional exertion caused her bandaged wound to start bleeding, startling Lilith and the rest. Johnson quickly changed bandages for Hera.

Meanwhile, a staff member led Benard to a monitoring area of an interrogation room at the Special Investigation Department.

Joshua was sitting in front of a one-way glass window, watching Rhett in the interrogation room. Upon noticing Bernard's arrival, Joshua hurriedly got up and invited him to take a seat.

He then handed a cup of coffee to Bernard. "Mr. Killian, you've arrived. Please take a seat."

"What's the situation?" Bernard glanced at Rhett through the glass window.

Although Rhett was seated in the Special Investigation Department's interrogation room, he remained composed while drinking coffee and reading the papers. He seemed right at home and did not seem afraid.

"He has a guarantee card that belongs to the Elders of Astral Nova. Thus, he's refused to cooperate with our

investigation and questioning," Joshua remarked, seeming troubled.

When the Elders took their places at Astral Nova, each of them received two guarantee cards. The Elders could use the cards for themselves or give them away to someone else.

As long as there was a guarantee card, Astral Nova would provide one-time criminal protection for the cardholder anywhere in the world.

If the guarantee card wasn't used by the time the Elder stepped down, it would be considered null and void.

Ever since Bernard became the grandmaster of Astral Nova, he had issued 18 guarantee cards. Eight of them had already been used, leaving ten more. He wondered who Rhett got the guarantee card from.
