Trouble in Paradise (Arianna and Nicholas)

As I went downstairs, everyone in Coral Villa seemed to be aware of something. They all stood in front of me, looking for lame excuses. They even asked if I wanted to cook something that Tabitha liked and send it to her.

Due to Tabitha's poor health, she had a dedicated nutritionist managing her meals for a long time. So, there was no need for me to take matters into my own hands.

I stopped in my tracks and stared coldly at the group in front of me. "Did Nicholas tell you to restrict my freedom?"

The group exchanged silent glances, and no one said anything more.

I hardened my expression and quickly slipped past them. Yasmine was already waiting for me in the courtyard.

"Go to the hospital now!" Yasmine said this as soon as I got in the car.

My chest tightened. The hospital didn't sound like a good place. Every visit seemed to bring earth-shattering news. Coupled with her earlier mention of Nicholas, I couldn't help but feel

uneasy.

What happened?"

"Promise you won't scold me...

Yasmine pressed her lips. She was hesitant to speak, but her actions were swift. She pressed the accelerator and made a sharp turn.

"I'm already in the car. What could you possibly still be hiding?"

"I went to work today, and a client came into the law firm, causing a scene. Apparently, it's about you.. that online mess. It's easy to deal with this person, but the more I thought about it, the angrier I got.

"If it weren't for Claudia stirring things up and spreading those false rumors online, it wouldn't have implicated you and the law firm."

Timmediately understood. Yasmine was frustrated and wanted to take it out on Claudia. So, she went to the hospital.

"What did you do to her? Did Nicholas give you trouble?"

Yasmine sighed. "If Nicholas were the one causing trouble for me, I wouldn't have come to you."

"Nicholas has me staying at Coral Villa. If anything happened, you can tell me the truth. He won't go after you.

"But why on earth would you provoke Claudia? Haven't I suffered enough because of her? Don't forget, she has Nicholas backing her up. Haven't you learned that lesson yet?"

I sighed and rubbed my temples. The last thing I wanted was for Yasmine to carry too much

of this burden.

I said exaggeratedly, "It's the perfect opportunity to argue with him. I've got plenty of frustration to let out anyway."

"Oh, no! You've got it all wrong!" Yasmine panicked and started explaining quickly.

"I did go to the hospital intending to confront Claudia, but I didn't even get close to her ward.

It was guarded. They wouldn't let me in and even kicked me out!

"I just wanted to see what drama she'd gotten into this time. So, I pretended to leave and squatted on the stairs listening to the sound from the ward, and guess what?"

I was momentarily speechless.

"It's nothing new. They're just going to put on another R-rated show in the ward. I'm used to it.

Wasn't that typical of Nicholas? Yesterday he was feeling sorry for me, holding me and saying how sad he was. Today, just to seek comfort, he'd probably reconciled with Claudia. I had long since become indifferent to such things.

Yasmine shook her head frantically.

"No! A bodyguard went in with knives. When he came out, the knife was all bloody. I clearly saw Nicholas in the ward! He was the one with Claudia! What's he up to now? It doesn't matter if he kills someone, but don't let him implicate you!"

I fell silent for a moment. It seemed like Nicholas and Claudia still hadn't worked things out. But what could I do about their issues? I was an outsider, after all.

"I doubt my presence will make much of a difference. But since we're already out, we might as well check it out."
