Their Secret Obsession (A Reverse Harem) by Pippa Moon

Chapter 0291

Lottie's POV

Stretching out on Knox's bed, I felt an overwhelming sense of peace wash over me. The soft rise and fall of his chest against my back was a comforting rhythm that I had missed more than I realised. His strong arms were draped protectively around me, his hands resting gently on my growing belly. I smiled softly, cherishing the warmth of his embrace. The room was filled with the faint scent of pine and something uniquely Knox-a scent that made me feel at home, minus the grime and filth.

I didn't want to move. Every part of me wanted to freeze this moment in time, to linger in the safety and love that cocooned us. It wasn't just about the hours of intimacy we had shared; it was about being with him, feeling needed, wanted, and cherished. My body seemed to hum with contentment, every nerve ending alive yet utterly relaxed. I closed my eyes, savouring the sensation, wishing the night would never end.

But my baby-bladder had other ideas. A familiar pressure nudged me, insisting that I get up. I sighed quietly, careful not to disturb Knox. Gently lifting his arm, I slipped out of bed, the cool air caressing my skin as I tiptoed toward the bathroom. I glanced back to see him stir slightly, but he settled back into sleep, a soft murmur escaping his lips.

In the bathroom, I quickly relieved myself, feeling an odd sense of companionship as I did. "Hello, my little ones," I whispered, placing a hand on my belly. It was incredible now that I was back with Knox, I could sense them more vividly than ever before. Their tiny presence was like warm flickers inside me, content and happy.

"Did you enjoy spending time with Daddy?" I cooed softly. "I think you did. I know I did." A flutter responded, and I giggled. Sage, my wolf, stirred within me.

"They can hear you," she whispered gently. "They love listening to you talk about their fathers."

"I've missed this," I admitted to her. "I've missed feeling them so clearly." A swell of emotion filled me.

"They've missed you too," Sage replied. "We all have." I smiled softly, placing both hands on my belly.

"I wonder what you'll look like," I mused aloud. "Will you, my little girl, have your daddy's piercing blue eyes? Or perhaps my mothers wild curls?" I chuckled, imagining a tiny version of myself running around with Kane's determined expression.

"And you, my sweet boy," I continued, "I bet you'll have your father's strong jaw and that mischievous grin that melts my heart every time." A flutter stirred beneath my palm, and I felt a gentle kick. "Oh, you like that, don't you?" I giggled. "I can already tell you're going to keep me on my toes."

"I can't wait to watch you both grow up," I whispered, emotion thickening my voice. "You'll be so loved. We'll have picnics in the meadow, and I'll teach you all about the stars. Your fathers will show you how to be brave and strong."

A sudden wave of sadness washed over me, dampening my smile. What if they didn't get to grow up here, surrounded by family? The looming threat of the Moon Goddess and the unsettled mess we were in cast a dark shadow over my hopes. If we couldn't sort this out, would I have to raise them elsewhere, away from their fathers?

"I promise I'll do everything I can to keep you safe," I vowed, stroking my belly gently. "Even if it means we have to leave. But I hope... I hope it doesn't come to that." Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes.

As if sensing my distress, a strong flutter rippled through me. For a fleeting moment, I felt a tug at my consciousness, a delicate brush like the softest of whispers. It was my daughter reaching out to me, her presence warm and reassuring. The sensation was gone as quickly as it came, but it left a lingering comfort.

"Did you feel that?" I asked, astonished.

"They're trying to console you," Sage murmured. "They don't want you to worry."

"You're right," I agreed. "I need to stay positive, for them." I took a deep breath, wiping away a stray tear. "That's the spirit," Sage encouraged.I sat there a moment longer, letting the peacefulness settle back in.

"We will find a way," I whispered to my pups. "We'll be together, and you'll know just how much you're loved." "Come on, Lottie," I chided softly. "No more gloom and doom. We have so much to look forward to."

I sat there longer than necessary, just enjoying the quiet conversation with my pups and Sage. It felt right-like a piece of me had been missing and was finally back in place. My legs began to tingle, a reminder that I had been sitting too long. With a reluctant sigh I stood up, stretching to get the blood flowing again.

I considered taking a shower, and the idea of warm water washing over me sounded delightful. But as I stepped back into the bedroom, the state of the room caught my eyes Clothes were strewn everywhere, food, beer cans, and untold chaos tangled on the floor, and a couple of empty glasses perched precariously on the nightstand. I pursed my lips, hands on my hips. This would not do.

"Well, someone's been living like a bachelor," I mysed with an inner chuckle so as not to wake Knox. The thought of tidying up appealed to me-maybe it was the nesting

up now, perhaps I could entice Knox to join me in the shower afterwards. A flutter of excitement stirred in my stomach at the thought.

"You're getting ahead of yourself," Sage teased lightly. "Are you not exhausted from last night?"

"Maybe," I admitted, a sly smile tugging at my lips. A warm flush spread across my cheeks as vivid memories of the night before flooded my mind. Every touch, every whispered word from Knox had ignited a fire within me that still smouldered. "But a girl can hope." Desire coiled deep within me, a relentless yearning that refused to be quenched. The bond between us wasn't just physical; it was an all-consuming connection that left me craving more. My body ached for the warmth of his embrace, the intertwining of our souls that made everything else fade away.

"I can't help it," I whispered to Sage. "Being with him... with them... it's like pieces of me that were missing are finally falling into place."

"Your desire is strong, but remember, we must care for ourselves and our little ones." Sage chuckled softly.

"I know," I sighed, tracing lazy circles over my belly. But the mere thought of reconnecting with my mates sent a shiver of anticipation through me. The longing was almost palpable, a sweet ache that settled low in my abdomen. "But the bond calls to me. It's like an irresistible pull, drawing me closer to them."

"Perhaps soon," Sage soothed. "For now, focus on the present."

I tried to quell the stirring within me, but the scent of Knox lingering on my skin only intensified the need. It was a heady mix of pine and something uniquely him, wrapping around me like a warm embrace. My senses were heightened, every fibre of my being attuned to the possibility of being with them again.

"You're right," I relented, though a part of me was already imagining the next time we'd be together. The thought alone sent a thrill coursing through me, making it hard to concentrate on anything else. "Besides," I thought with a mischievous glint in my eye, "there's always later."
