Their Secret Obsession (A Reverse Harem) by Pippa Moon

Chapter 0240

"Your new motto, 'I should care... I don't!' loser." Havoc snarled. Closing my eyes, I rubbed my temple with my free hand wishing for a damn time machine. "Bit late for that." Havoc added before disappearing to let me deal with the chaos I had started.

"I tried, Chase. I tried to be there, but she... she rejected me," I said, my voice breaking at how weak and pathetic I was, in fact, sounding. Chase was right. "Because you're weak," he shot back. "You let Kane dictate your actions. You didn't fight for her." His words cut deep, but I knew he was right.

"I thought it was for the best," I muttered. "I thought she'd be safer."

"Safer? She's miserable, Knox." Why does that make me happy? Surely, I want her to be happy, but if she is miserable... there is still hope, right? "And now, because of you and Kane, she's stuck dealing with the fallout." He growled, his voice rising too now and bringing my focus back. Swallowing the emotions, I felt prickling the back of my throat, I licked my suddenly dry lips.

"I didn't know," I whispered, my head pounding from more than just the alcohol. "I didn't know it would be like this or that she would be suffering."

"You should've been here to find out," Chase said, his voice softer but still laced with anger. "If you really love her, you'll stop drowning your sorrows and start making things right." He ordered; unable to reply, I nodded, turning to glare at the hustle and bustle of the club. "Shut the fuck up! Can't a guy have a convo without you pricks making a fucking racket?" I bellowed angrily before turning back to the bar and my conversation with Chase. Chase's sigh was audible over the line.

"You and Kane put us all in this mess, Knox. All I want is for Lottie to be happy." He conceded, his tone softer now.

"I want that too," I slurred, feeling the

room spin. "How is she, Chase? Is room spin. "How

she okay?" Tasked, attempting to sound as sober as possible. I knew I was pushing my luck because could tell he didn't want to have this conversation, but it was tough. I did. Ineeded it.

"I'm not giving you any more information. You've done enough damage." Chase's voice was cold and final. Closing my eyes, I reminded myself that Chase loved his sister more than anything, and if he wasn't telling me, there was a reason for it. I didn't like it, but he had to have her best interests at heart. That didn't mean I wouldn't try

at least one more time though.

"Please, Chase. I need to know," I begged, my voice cracking as the room got louder, the sound of voices mixed with any sensible thoughts I may have hoped to have; it was as if they were all right up my arse. "Perhaps they don't give a fuck about your needs either." Havoc grumbled.

"No." I stammered to my wolf in my alcohol-fused mind. "The fuckers clearly didn't hear me." I added, determined to make a point.

"Or they heard and do not know who the fuck you are." Havoc laughed. "Not that they would care even if they did. You're not the man you were six months ago, are you?" He scoffed bitterly. His words hurt, but I knew he wasn't wrong.

"Got something to say, ya pussy?"

One of the group yelled at me, rolling

neo

my lips through my teeth; I fought control my temper before it yet again got me in shit I couldn't get out of and end up proving Havoc and, more importantly, Chase right.
