The Rise of a Master: It Starts With Rejection

Chapter Billionaire With Husband 173

Chapter 173

Felix hung up immediately after that. Xena got so mad that her eyebrows shot up at once.

"Fuck you, Felix! Are you telling me what to do?

However, when she thought of the fact that Seth would soon be coming in two days, she managed to calm down afterward.

Xean went downstairs and retrieved the encrypted laptop the headquarters had provided her with. Then, she went into the database.

She was able to search up information on each of the chiefs from Dragon Alliance. She didn't want to appear ignorant when she went to meet them tomorrow.

Since there was an agreement between Dragon Alliance and the headquarters, Xena was able to find the information she wanted. However, there were few people who had access to retrieve this kind of information. Only a handful of people had access, and Xena was one of them.

Even Belle wasn't allowed to access confidential information like this. Of course, Xena wouldn't tell her either. That was against the rules.

After all, if the enemies of Dragon Alliance were to get hold of such information and misuse it, they would be able to attack the alliance too easily.

Around 9:00 am the following day, nine people gathered in the massive presidential suite of a certain hotel. There were both men and women in the lineup, and the youngest of them all was at least in their mid-40s. These nine people were the nine chiefs of Dragon Alliance. They held so much power and authority that regular people would not be able to imagine it.

"Kane, you know the consequences if you lie to us," a burly, muscular, and unfriendly-looking man said. His eyes were hostile.

"How could I possibly dare to lie to you about anything concerning the Dragon Lord? Do

think I want to die that much?"

you

Kane nearly rolled his eyes in exasperation. Why would they still worry that everything was a farce if he was already standing there with them? How would it benefit him anyway if he lied? "It's true. I've seen the Dragon Lord," Daniel said, immediately attracting everyone's eyes.

"Mr. Rush, you... You've seen the Dragon Lord?

Daniel nodded, but he didn't know what else to say. After all, it had been a terrible and embarrassing episode when he first met Felix. He had even nearly lost his own life then!

How could he possibly tell that to the other chiefs?

"That's wonderful! The Dragon Lord is back! I want to see if those rebels will finally cower away in fright," the same burly man replied with a cold sneer.

"Haha! Now, we only know that a deputy chief rebelled. With the nine of us here, we still don't know whether we've got any defectors in our midst."

Everyone fell into silence. It was true. There had to be a chief or two who was also planning to betray the group. It was just that they were hiding it too well and gave nothing away.

"Then, if the Dragon Lord appears, doesn't that mean he's exposing his true identity to the rebels and defectors?"

Kane shook his head, unable to control his chuckle.

"You don't have to worry about that. The rebels won't even have the time to hide themselves from the Dragon Lord-how do you suppose they'd be able to get anyone to assassinate him? Do they even have the capability to do that?"

That was the truth. The Dragon Lord was not a force to be reckoned with. He was about to eliminate the Dragon Alliance very soon, and the rebels were running out of time. They wouldn't dare to provoke the Dragon Lord first. That would only speed up their own destruction.

Just then, the men at the hotel entrance sent a message to Kane. As soon as he saw it, he immediately said, "The Dragon Lord is here!"

All at once, the chiefs got to their feet. It would be a lie to say they weren't the least bit anxious about the meeting. After all, besides Daniel, none of the others had ever met the Dragon Lord before.

A few minutes later, Kane pushed the door open and stood behind it while Felix entered.

The nine chiefs in the living room didn't seem to look surprised or shocked at Felix's young age. They only showed him the utmost respect.

After all, the Dragon Lord wasn't someone who could be easily justified with common sense. They would behave the same even if the person who walked in were a mere child. "Greetings, my lord!"

The nine chiefs nodded respectfully at Felix. None of them dared to look straight into his

eyes.
