The Fortune-Telling Heiress

Chapter 316

Chapter 316

"I live in an old neighborhood, but it's in the city center. The environment is great, and the transportation is really convenient."

As Kim arrived at her house and was about to go in, her phone pinged with a WhatsApp message. "It's from my boyfriend!"

She opened the message and saw a video her boyfriend had sent. In the video, he stood in their living room with a man in a robe. The man held a fly whisk in one hand and a bell in the other, walking around the room while chanting something. Suddenly, the monk tossed a talisman that flew straight toward a nearby cabinet. In the next moment, the talisman turned to ash.

The monk turned back with a serious expression and said to the camera, "The evil spirit has been removed."

Her boyfriend then appeared in the frame, smiling gently at the camera. "Darling, everything is taken care of now. If you want to move back in, you're welcome to."

However, the monk's expression changed suddenly. He firmly stated, "No, I've checked your girlfriend's horoscope, and it's incompatible with this house. If she stays here, she'll attract more evil spirits. The best option is to move out."

Her boyfriend nodded, looking resigned as he addressed the camera again. "Darling, it seems we'll have to sell this house. It has had some problems in the past, so I'm not sure how easy that'll be. If we do manage to sell it, we might have to let it go for a lower price..." He suddenly paused, then continued, "But don't worry about any of this. I'll handle it."

The video ended abruptly.

Kim watched the video with a tender, happy expression. "He's so good to me. Even though he's scared himself, he's willing to come to this house for me." The comments came pouring in.

"I thought this was going to be a ghost story, but it's just a scam!"

"Ms. Weasley's boyfriend is so sweet! And he's super handsome too!"

"Ms. Weasley is so lucky!"

"Am I the only one who finds this weird? Maddie said the photo is fake, but that monk..."

"That monk is a fraud."

Kim spotted that comment, and her eyes lit up. "You're right! If there's nothing in the house, then that monk must be a fraud! I paid 40 grand to hire this monk!" Kim clutched her phone and started walking away. "No way! I can't let this scammer get away! Maddie, you brought me here to help make sure my boyfriend doesn't get scammed, right?"

Kim thanked her repeatedly through the camera.

"Thanks, Maddie! That's 40 grand! My boyfriend is the one covering that cost. He doesn't come from a wealthy family and just started working, so he doesn't have much money. Forty grand is a lot for him."

As Kim reached the front door, she could hear voices coming from inside. At that moment, Madison warned her, "Wait! Don't go in just yet. Listen to what they're saying!"

Kim was confused. "But what if my boyfriend gets scammed?"

Madison replied calmly, "The monk is definitely a fraud."

Noticing Kim's innocent expression, Madison paused briefly before saying, "The monk is a fraud, and so is your boyfriend!"

"Wha-"Just as Kim was about to voice her surprise, the voices inside the house grew louder.

"This should work, right? Are you sure your girlfriend will sell the house?"

"Don't worry! She's very timid. There's no way she'd live in a house like this," her boyfriend replied with a smug smile. "I'll handle the sale completely. This place has a great location and is in a good school district. We'll get a good price for it."

The other man laughed. "You're smart! With your plan, your girlfriend will think the house is worth less, and you'll pocket the extra cash. Then, you can marry her and have her pay for a new house together. You won't spend a dime, and you'll end up with another property!"
