The Fortune-Telling Heiress

Chapter 309

Chapter 309

Madison lowered her hand and looked up with a calm expression. "Let's go to the hospital."

"Why are we going to the hospital?" Yara asked.

Madison replied, "Since Harvey is set on investigating, we need to find the evidence before he does." She paused, then added, "There's only one person who can truly look into Rebecca." Yara clapped her hands. "Sebastian!"

Madison nodded.

Wanda quickly said, "I'll drive us there right now."

When they arrived at the hospital, Madison headed straight for Sebastian's ward. She knocked on the door and heard a series of soft taps from inside. A moment later, the door opened.

A pretty young face peeked out. "Sept, there's a beautiful lady here!"

Sebastian, who was sitting on the bed and reviewing documents, glanced at the door. "It's a friend of mine. Let her in."

"Oh!" The woman's eyes narrowed with suspicion and hostility as she stepped aside. "Miss, how come I've never seen you before? I've met all of Sept's friends. We've known each other since we were kids," she added, leaning affectionately against Sebastian's shoulder. Sebastian shifted slightly to avoid her. "We have some important business to discuss. You need to leave."

"Sept, what can't you discuss in front of me?" she pouted.

"Cecilia Yapel!" he called out firmly.

Cecilia straightened up in surprise before reluctantly leaving his bedside.

"Okay, I'll go. Sept, I'll wait for you outside! If you need anything, just call me." As she walked away, she turned to Madison, her tone shifting. "Make sure not to disturb Sept's rest. He's not feeling well!" "Cecilia!" Sebastian called after her.

Cecilia pouted. "I got it, I got it." With a loud slam, she shut the door behind her.

Sebastian set the documents aside, took off his glasses, and rubbed his nose. "The Yapels and Halls have been family friends for generations. She's a few years younger than me, and I've always seen her as a sister." Madison paused in surprise.

"I don't want you to misunderstand. My feelings for you were genuine," Sebastian added.

Madison nodded and sat down on the chair beside his bed.

Sebastian straightened up and leaned slightly against the headboard. His pale face and the few strands of black hair that fell across his forehead softened his usual sharp demeanor, giving him a gentler look When he raised his eyebrows, the red mole at the corner of his eye added a unique charm that he typically didn't have.

Madison quickly looked away but returned her gaze to him when she sensed he was watching.

"I need your help with something," she said.

"Just tell me," he replied.

Madison briefly explained the situation.

"So, the person behind this is Rebecca?" Sebastian asked, tapping his fingers lightly.

"Yeah."

Sebastian's fingers froze. "You think it's dangerous for Harvey to investigate, so you're asking me to do it instead?" Madison hesitated. "Yes."

Sebastian let out a small laugh. "You're worried about Harvey being in danger, but not me. Madison..."

He shook his head and added, "So, when you said you didn't like me before, you really weren't lying."

Just as Madison was about to say something, Sebastian cut her off. "It's alright. It just shows I made the right choice in letting go of my feelings."
