Chapter 302
Chapter 302
Everyone turned to look at Madison.
Madison, who had removed her headphones, stared at Harvey and asked softly, "Harvey, do you think this is considered resolved?" Harvey stood up and walked toward Madison.
Jason rolled his eyes. "Seriously? How can she handle all of this on her own? If she were that capable, we wouldn't be in this situation."
Rebecca whispered to Jason, "Don't say that about Maddie. She's not familiar with these things. She probably thinks just issuing a statement will be enough." With a gentle smile, she asked Madison, "Did you issue a statement?"
Madison nodded. "Yeah, I just made my social media account public and posted a statement."
Jason let out a derisive laugh. Leaning back on the couch, he rolled his eyes and said, "Maddie, who do you think you are? Do you really believe that a statement is going to solve anything?"
Rebecca sighed and said to William, "Mom, Dad, if Maddie doesn't want to apologize, I can do it for her. I have more followers and a bigger fan base. If I step in, that should be enough."
"Absolutely not. Why should Madison's mistakes be your burden?" Ethan interjected. He stood up and said coldly, "I'll handle it. I'm more well-known in the entertainment industry, and I have more fans than you. Plus, I'm your brother. There's no way I'm letting you take the blame for this."
He gently ruffled Rebecca's hair and said, "I told you, I'll protect you for life."
"Ethan..." Rebecca replied, her voice filled with emotion.
Ethan smiled, then turned to Madison and Harvey. "Since you don't want Maddie to take the blame, I'll handle it instead."
With that, he took out his phone. "Harvey, do you really think that coddling Maddie is what's best for her? If you truly care for Maddie, you should let her face her responsibilities. Let's hope you won't regret this later."
Just as he finished editing the statement and was about to hit send, a hand reached over and snatched the phone away.
Ethan stared in disbelief. "Harvey..."
"Harvey, have you finally come to your senses? You're not going to cover for Maddie anymore, are you?" Jason said. He laughed and added, "I knew it! You're not the kind of person who can't tell right from wrong." William let out a sigh of relief. "The best solution is for Madison to apologize publicly. Harvey, it's good you've come around. Whoever made the mistake should be the one to fix the problem."
Tanya smiled as well. "Finally, you and your father can stop being at each other's throats."
Rebecca leaned happily against Tanya's shoulder, smiling contentedly.
As Harvey watched their relieved expressions, he gripped the phone a little tighter. No one seemed to care what Madison thought. They were deciding everything for her, as if her opinion didn't matter at all. Harvey tossed the phone back to Ethan. "Maddie has already taken care of the issue."
The smiles on their faces froze for a moment.
William pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling both frustrated and helpless. "Harvey, I thought you'd come to your senses. How could Madison possibly solve this? If she could fix things, we wouldn't be in this mess- "1
Harvey cut him off, "Dad, why don't you check Locke Corporation's stock price right now?"
William hesitated for a moment, then pulled out his phone. When he saw the screen, his eyes widened in shock, and he shot up from the couch. "How is this possible?"
The stocks that had been plummeting all morning had suddenly skyrocketed.
