The Divorced Heiress’s Revenge

Chapter 2380

Chapter 2380

Drew was drenched, but he paid no heed to himself.

His large hands firmly gripped Yvonne's trembling shoulders. "Don't be afraid... I'm here! Don't be afraid!"

Yvonne stared at him blankly. Her lips parted, her face pale, like someone who had just escaped from the suffocating depths of the ocean.

"Did you have a nightmare? Don't worry... I'm here; your husband's here." Drew's voice trembled with panic as he held her tightly in his arms.

"I... I can wash myself," Yvonne stammered, trembling violently as she tried to cover the old scars on her body.

Those years under Christopher's torment in Pivotage had left countless scars—both

physical and emotional. The flood of shameful, dark memories overwhelmed her, leaving her gasping for air.

The reason she never allowed the lights on during intimacy was her deep psychological scars surrounding the subject. She had always bathed alone, unwilling to let anyone, especially the one she loved most, see the ugly marks that bore witness to her painful past.

Drew's eyes flickered with shock, and in that instant, he understood everything.

Without hesitation, he stepped into the bathtub, immersing himself alongside her. His bloodshot eyes shone with determination as he wrapped his arms tightly around her fragile frame.

"Yvonne, listen... Listen to me," he whispered.

Yvonne's teary eyes gradually steadied under the warmth of his embrace, her erratic breathing slowing.

"You're amazing, Yvonne. Being with you is the greatest blessing of my life. I'm the one who's unworthy of you," Drew said, his voice filled with both tenderness and pain.

As he gently patted her trembling back, his fingers brushed over the scars that marred her skin. Each one etched itself into his heart, a testament to her suffering. "The past is behind us. Let's look forward. The good days are still ahead, waiting for us."

In the early hours of the morning, Yara Park lay shrouded in stillness.

Unable to sleep, Bella wrapped herself in a soft blanket and sat alone on the veranda, gazing at the snow under the moonlight.

However, her mind was far from the serene scene. She was preoccupied with thoughts of Justin's well-being as well as the sinister schemes Grant and Lucas might still be plotting.

"Bella? What are you doing here?"

Startled from her reverie, Bella turned to see Drew approaching. Her face lit up with joy. “ Drew, when did you get back?"

"Tonight. I'm sorry-I've been taking care of Yvonne and didn't get a chance to see you or Asher."

Feeling guilty, Drew removed his black wool coat and draped it over Bella's shoulders. "It's freezing. Don't sit out here. Go inside."

"I'm not cold. I used to love sitting here watching the snow. Mom loved it too," Bella replied, though she could not miss the worry etched into her brother's expression.

"Drew, is everything alright with you and Yvonne?"

"Yvonne's not doing well," Drew admitted, his heart clenching at the memory of her desolation.

"What happened?"

"She still can't let go of the past. She doesn't say it because she doesn't want me to worry, but I know she's battling it internally, trapped in a cycle of self-doubt and denial."

Drew sank down beside Bella, his gaze distant as he stared at the vast snow-covered expanse.

The pain was evident in his eyes. "At the end of the day, it's my failure. I can't pull her out of the darkness..."

"Yvonne is the strongest woman I've ever met. Anyone else would have crumbled under what she endured. She's truly admirable," Bella said softly, patting her brother's slumped shoulder. "Drew, it'll get better. Time and your love are the best medicine for her."

Drew closed his eyes, his voice firm. "Once I finish my current tasks, I'm going to marry Yvonne. After that, I'll apply to leave the organization. I'm done."

Bella's eyes widened in disbelief. "Drew, you're resigning?"

The career he had vowed to dedicate his life to--was he truly ready to abandon it for Yvonne?

"Yes. Yvonne needs me. She needs someone by her side." Drew's expression softened as he smiled. "I've had this thought for a while now, and tonight, I made up my mind. All I want is for Yvonne to be happy. Without that, everything I've achieved is meaningless."

Bella was deeply moved by her brother's unwavering devotion. Tears welled up in her eyes as she marveled at his resolve and love.

"By the way, Bella," Drew said with a cheeky grin, breaking the somber atmosphere. "If there's anything you need done, now's the time to ask. Once I lose my special privileges, you might not get another chance!"

After a brief silence, Bella let out a heavy sigh, her expression turning sharp and determined.

"Drew, if it's possible, help me investigate Lucas Fowler, the former chairman of the Fowler Corporation and Grant's biological uncle. Can you do that?"
