Chapter 1558
Felicity was totally over it and decided not to engage further.
After hanging up the call, she was out like a light in seconds.
In a half-asleep haze, she could vaguely hear voices outside her room, sounding somewhat like her mom's, but also not quite.
Blearily opening her eyes to check the time, she realized she'd slept right into the afternoon!
Touching her forehead, the fever seemed to have subsided, not burning like it had been in the morning.
Felicity got up and shuffled out of her bedroom, only to find out it was Ms. Sanchez visiting!
She was there, deep in conversation with her mom.
That explained the voices...
"Ms. Sanchez."
"Felicity, are you sick? You look terribly pale," Dorothy Sanchez immediately got up from the couch, concerned, "Have you seen a doctor?"
"No, but it's nothing serious. I'll just grab something to eat later; should be fine."
After five years in Anglonia, getting through minor sicknesses had become somewhat of a routine for her, especially since her parents weren't around and she didn't like to trouble her colleagues or friends too much.
"Did you catch a cold last night at the hospital?" Dorothy sighed, "Oh dear, what are we going to do with you two?"
The engagement had just been set, and Dorothy had barely had time to rejoice before the kids unexpectedly broke up.
It felt like such a waste to anyone who knew them.
"I'm sorry, Ms. Sanchez, but what happened isn't Langston's fault. I rushed into the relationship and realized later it wasn't right for us," Felicity said earnestly, her gaze fixed to the floor, "Langston is a great guy, a true gentleman. He will definitely find someone who's right for him."
"But you know Langston, stubborn just like his dad, Everett Lopez. Once he sets his mind to something, it's hard to change."
And wasn't that just like Dorothy too? And Miles, he was no different.
"He and Mr. Lopez are not the same; Mr. Lopez didn't have an ex-girlfriend."
Though Esther's situation was just the tip of the iceberg.
It was undeniable, however, that the beginning of their breakup was largely due to this "ex-girlfriend".
Without her, maybe they could have had more time to work things out.
"I understand," was all Dorothy said with a sigh, leaving it at that.
After all, who could fault her son for rushing to the hospital to "take responsibility"?
Felicity booked an early flight out.
This way, she'd land during the day, giving her some time to unpack and settle down. Despite her protests, her departure to the airport was overseen by her dad, Jeffrey Turner. "Felicity, take good care of yourself over there!"
"I will, don't worry."

Felicity flashed an OK sign, "Sure, I'll treat you all to a feast here in Anglonia."
With her ticket in hand, she proceeded to check her luggage in.
Suddenly, her phone rang.
Glancing at the caller ID, Felicity hesitated.
It was Esther's number.
She didn't really want to answer, yet curiosity got the best of her. What could Esther possibly want to say?
swnov
Pressing the answer button, she was greeted by Esther's feeble voice.
"Weren't you and Miles supposed to be siblings? Why are you marrying him..."
"I don't owe you an explanation."
Such an inquiry was utterly dull.
"Please don't take him away from me. I love Miles; I can't live without him..." Again with the drama!
Rolling her eyes, Felicity was about up when another, much

"Esther, who are you calling?"
She froze, as if struck by lightning!
It was Miles.
That voice could only belong to Miles.
Were they... together?
