Chapter 196 –
Wyatt's eyes lit up with a spark of happiness. He then sighed. "Forget it. How can I delegate responsibility to you?"
Jimmy said to retreat as an advance... He had to adjust to the circumstances.
Ivy frowned and placed an ice pack on his forehead of Wyatt.
"Such a simple action is meaningless. Please be patient and wait for the doctor to arrive."
Wyatt's face became faintly rigid. "Is that all?"
Ivy nodded.
"Done. I didn't touch you."
He just stated that he does not appreciate being touched!
Wyatt slowly closed his eyes while remaining silent. The following instant, Ivy's phone rang.
He glanced at the caller ID on her phone. It was Marco Seely. His heart paused momentarily.
"It is very late. What could he possibly want?" He could not conceal his jetheusy and animosity in his tone. He was so envious that he wished to murder someone!
Ivy pursed her lips absently. "Work." She had no intention of explaining anything to Wyatt because it was unnecessary.
She then rose to her feet and went outside to answer the call.
Wyatt observed her getting up and leaving. The flames within his eyes were raging. He was going insane with envy. He stood inaudibly at the door to listen in on the conversation.
Ivy stood up. Pierce turned out to be the destination. "Pretty Lady, I miss you already after a few hours! Do you miss me?"
"Yes, I miss you terribly." She subtly lowered her voice, causing the man behind the door to become colder and more distressed.
After hanging up the phone, Ivy pushed open the door and saw Wyatt standing there. His silk pajamas were a little messy. The color black made his skin appear lighter, but it was actually abnormally pale. A deep chill and grief engulfed the man.
His eyes were filled with both rage and suffering.
Ivy stopped and grimaced. "You..."
Wyatt was ahead of the game. His dark eyes regarded Ivy intently as he asked, "Are you only acting with him for business purposes?" His tone of voice was extremely subdued. He did his best to maintain emotional control. As soon as he said this, the outer corners of his eyes became red.
He anticipated hearing her response, but he was terrified of hearing it.
Ivy remained silent for a few seconds to calm his heart's sudden acceleration, but in the next instant, she realized something.
Actually, Wyatt was standing there without his cane!
'His leg has healed? Did he not tumble down the stairs and experience a relapse? Was he not immobile due to a fever?'
The husky ran to the side balcony and continued to chew on Wyatt's cane, oblivious to the tension between the two people.
Immediately, Ivy's heart lost all trace of pity. She felt nothing but anger at this absurdity.
"Wyatt Reed, you liar son of a bitch!"
Ivy raised her eyes and regarded Wyatt with an uninterested gaze. Her tone was characterized by indifference, "who said it was a show? We intend to make it come true!"
She observed the man's pupils contracting. His eyes turned suddenly red, but Ivy remained unfazed. She lost control of her anger as she regarded his mended legs and could no longer suppress it.
"Okay, don't disturb my date. I'm leaving."
Ivy gritted her teeth and abruptly turned to leave. She feared that if she remained for one more second, she would lose control and truly incapacitate him. Wyatt took two steps forward and pressed her shoulders against the wall before exiting the room. His lips dipped unconsciously. He was obviously anxious and depressed, but he stroked Ivy's hair gently as if he were soothing a scared kitten.
"Do not go, Ivy. I was wrong. I still have a fever. I'm still sick. You can't leave me alone." As he coaxed her, his tone was so gentle, but his eyes were bloodshot. His slightly trembling hands indicated that his heart was anxious and restless.
Wyatt was frightened. He feared losing Ivy permanently. He warned himself not to become angry. It was irrelevant whether Ivy chose Marco or not. He had a myriad of options to bind her to his life permanently.
Ivy was at a loss for words and pushed him away. Her strength was significantly greater than Wyatt's, who was feigning illness.
She sneered and said, "Then being sick can feel like a joke. The doctor will arrive shortly." After making this statement, she turned around.
When she descended the stairs, she encountered Jimmy and the doctor, both of whom appeared unhappy and unconcerned.
If Ivy had not previously noticed that Wyatt was feigning illness, she might not have understood what was occurring.
Bill followed them with a determined expression as he urged them.
Upon observing Ivy descend the stairs, Jimmy hurriedly greeted her. "What would you like to take, Ms. Morgan? I'll go get it for you. You don't have to come down."
She should spend extra time with Wyatt.
Ivy gave him a blank, icy stare. She remained silent and looked at Bill. "Let's go."
"Yes, Miss."
Jimmy froze momentarily. Then he observed Wyatt attempting to catch up to Ivy. He hurriedly descended the stairs without his cane. Instantaneously, he grasped the situation. 'Mr. Reed hid it so effectively! I had no idea when his leg had recovered!'
However, Wyatt was unaware of his peculiarity.
Ivy and Bill were one step ahead and had already left Hudson Yards, while Wyatt stood there bewildered.
His eyes were calm when he raised them to look at Jimmy and the doctor. "She is angry."
It will be odd if she is not upset! Jimmy pondered.
There, the doctor stood in a tangle. "Mr. Reed, do I still have to...."
Wyatt glanced at him. "No need."
After hearing this, the physician exited the same way he had entered.
Jimmy felt the chill emanating from Wyatt and refrained from acting rashly. The strength of Ivy and Wyatt's personalities left him with no other option.
"Mr. Reed, would you like to rest on the second floor?"
Jimmy was able to convince Ivy to visit, but Wyatt messed up the plan, so he has no one to blame but himself.
Wyatt could not kill Jimmy to make Ivy happy if she was upset, right?
Based on what Jimmy knew about Wyatt, Wyatt was capable of committing such an act.
Upstairs, the husky that was playfully biting the cane attempted to drag it down the stairs to its bed one by one.
As soon as Wyatt detected the motion, he swept an oppressive gaze over the area. When he viewed the cane, his eyes immediately contracted and sank. Suddenly, he realized why Ivy's disposition had changed so abruptly. Then, Wyatt regarded his legs. He concealed his recovery for so long to make Ivy constantly feel guilty, but it was recklessly revealed when he was unaware.
His frustration was choking him to death. He cursed himself and despised himself for recovering so quickly. He knew that if he pursued Ivy at this time, she would still be furious and would never forgive him. Wyatt was furious that Ivy may have met with Marco, but he was in the wrong and could not act rashly.
He could only find another chance to make amends in the future.
SEVERAL days later. Ivy and Leo were fishing at home. Windy joyfully ran over to greet them.
"Hi, Uncle Leo! Ivy, I've decided to throw a party for everyone to celebrate my new relationship."
Ivy rolled her eyes and glanced at Leo. She intended for Windy to tone it down a bit.
Leo regarded Windy and chuckled. "Windy, you have already celebrated with three or four different men this month. You go, girl!"
