THE BILLIONAIRE IS INFATUATED WITH HIS EX-LOVER

Chapter 11: Leon is determined to forget his first love

Returning to his apartment well past midnight, Leon stumbled unsteadily, his legs swaying from the effects of alcohol that had seeped into his system. He sprawled on the sofa, his shoes still untouched. In the dim, surreal light, Leon unconsciously caught sight of the figure of a pretty girl approaching; she gently wiped his face with a warm cloth. Leon grasped the soft, delicate hand, the tender, youthful skin drawing her closer into his embrace. Unable to contain his involuntary emotions, he called out to someone.

"Sara! Sara!"

The girl's expression suddenly changed, her smile fading, as he tried to speak to her again, but she didn't turn back. Leon jolted awake, realizing it was just a dream.

Feeling weary, Leon went to the dining table and poured himself a drink of fresh water, feeling more awake now. He pondered deeply on the dream he had just experienced.

He sometimes stayed in this spacious and luxurious apartment, and Mark took care of all the tidying up. Leon often stayed at the company on weekdays, but lately, he has preferred coming home early to avoid bumping into Sara. The space felt empty as Leon disliked having too much furniture, preferring simplicity. Moreover, it made the apartment look more spacious and airy. Leon enjoyed sleeping in the living room as he detested the confinement of four narrow walls; he felt he was in control of a vast, expansive world.

Leon had no close relatives or friends; the one who frequented his place the most was Mark. Naturally solitary, Leon became even more reclusive after several setbacks. He hated flattery and sycophancy, understanding that no one would praise someone without expecting something in return.

Leon only participated in meetings and negotiations with significant partners; Mark handled everything else. Hence, few people knew about Leon despite owning a large company.

Sara's carefree demeanour in front of another man pierced Leon's wounded heart like an arrow, causing it to ache and hurt again. They used to sit at that table, laughing and chatting, but now she was with someone else - someone who replaced him in conversation, care, and attention. Life was unpredictable; love could be replaced by more suitable candidates, no matter how deep.

In hindsight, Leon should have known his place and controlled his heart to prevent it from straying. He couldn't blame anyone; he had brought this pain upon himself.

Leon took a long cigarette drag, exhaling a plume of white smoke. The scent he once found unpleasant now oddly relaxed him. Since Sara left, Leon's life had become intertwined with smoke and drunken oblivion. It took great effort for him to regain balance but to fall back into emptiness again.

On the first day after their breakup, Leon returned alone to his cramped apartment with plenty of alcohol. He drank himself into a stupor, nearly succumbing to alcohol poisoning. If it weren't for Mark in the neighbouring room, who discovered him and rushed him to the hospital in time, there wouldn't be today's successful Leon

Mark remained unwaveringly loyal to Leon, treating him like family. During Leon's days in the hospital, Mark borrowed money to cover all the expenses. Faced with Mark's genuine affection, Leon realized his weakness and vulnerability. From then on, he resolved to forget it all and start anew.

"Mark, don't worry, I won't forget this kindness. If I ever rise to success in the future, I'll ensure you're not left behind."

"Leon, someone once said that if we can't reach someone, it might be because we deserve someone better." Mark stood beside him, hesitant to speak louder.

"Thank you for helping me in my difficult times. From now on, we're family." Leon smiled softly, hiding his pain behind a forced grin.

Mark was relieved to see Leon finally regaining his optimism. From then on, they worked together to build their careers, expanding the LT cosmetics company.

Four years passed, and Leon thought the pain had faded, but little did he know...

Sara, the one who had once brought him happiness, now caused him anguish, multiplying his pain a thousandfold. Leon knew she was never his to keep, and he had accepted letting her go. But seeing her with someone else reopened his wounds.

He had often reminded himself to let go, but today, seeing Sara with another, he finally found a reason to do so.

Leon stood up, clutching the necklace engraved with "Sara" - a birthday gift from her. He held it in his hand, hesitating, his eyes filled with profound sadness. "Leon, do you see anything special about this necklace?" Sara held up the silver chain, its pendant shaped like a shining sword, sparkling brightly.

Leon scrutinized the necklace closely before exclaiming, "Sara, how did you manage to engrave your name on this?"

"I provided them with the design, and they did the rest. I don't have any carving skills. Leon, I want you to be as strong and courageous as this sword so that no one can underestimate or look down on you. You're not just a hero from a fairy tale; you're a real-life hero, honest, brave, and sincere." Leon bowed his head forward as Sara helped him put on the necklace.

"Wow, indeed, You're a pretty person who looks good in everything."

"Sara, you are the best and most beautiful girl I have ever met. I thank life for letting us meet. I hope that no matter what happens in the future, we will always be together."

Leon looked lovingly at the girl in front of him. At this moment, He doesn't think about anything other than loving and cherishing this love.

"Leon, we will always be together."

The small, unlit candlelight demonstrated this sacred moment...

Simple happiness for Leon used to be just that, but now those sweet words were merely foolish memories that needed to disappear from the mind.

Leon tossed the necklace forcefully, the delicate chain disappearing into the dark void, and from now on, the words "Sara" ceased to exist in Leon's dictionary.
