"The old man wants to retire from his position, and if I have to bear an heir to become the next Alpha king, then we better get the job done as soon as possible." He uttered and rose to his feet while I stared at him in disbelief,

Immediately Dexter walked away, my gaze averted to Scarlett who had a smirk on her face,

She really must be happy right now.

"I’ll be heading to bed now. I think I lost my appetite." She uttered and rose to her feet, while I heaved deeply.

I couldn’t stand any of this as it was crazy. There was no damn way I was letting that bastard touch me, talk more of making love to me. I wasn’t going to have a baby with him,

"I’m tired, can I go to bed?" I muttered without raising my gaze at them and once I got a nod from the Alpha king, I rose to my feet,

"Tomorrow’s a long day, dear; you’ll need all the strength you can gather. Goodnight." Luna said to me and I nodded before I began to walk away.

As I got to the stairs, I found Daniel approaching my direction and I immediately stopped him,

"I need to see Dexter," I said coldly while he stared at me in shock,

"Alright. I was about to come get you as the Alpha asked to see you too."

"Well, that’s just great because I bet we both have a lot to talk about. Lead the way."

He began walking and soon we got to a small balcony where I could feel the cold breeze kiss my skin. Dexter was leaning on the banister staring at the sky, and for a few seconds, I halted in my tracks, staring at him,

"What the hell was running through his mind?" I continued to stare until I heard his voice,

"Are you going to keep standing there?" He uttered, and I began to walk towards him,

When I was standing beside him, I cleared my throat aloud,

"You lied to me, or rather I’ll say this wasn’t part of the contact. There’s no damn way I’m letting you touch me, Dexter, not even in your wildest dream."

"I didn’t lie to you Amelia, you just didn’t read the contract properly. It was clearly stated that part of what you had to offer me was an heir to the pack. Only that can guarantee the end of our contract." He announced while I scoffed,

"Well, I’m sorry to announce to you that I’m out. I don’t plan on getting pregnant for you, let more of giving you a child or to allow you touch me inappropriately." I responded as I placed one hand on my hips and we simply just kept staring at each other without uttering anything.

I couldn’t understand the emotions in his eyes and I had so many questions to ask him about his family, but it was best to keep to myself and shut the hell up,

"Well, I guess that should be all. Goodbye Alpha Dexter." I murmured and turned to leave but he called me back,

"Amelia..."

Giving him a chance, I turned to face him again, only to see his hand tucked into his pocket as he spoke

"Don’t you want to find out what happened to your mother or where she is?" He uttered and I instantly froze,

Shock! That was the only thing evident in my eyes after hearing him.
