Teach a Teacher a Lesson

Chapter 4

Rita woke with a smile. She had been dreaming of her little fantasy with Chris all night. This time, of course, there had been no interruption. She had seen Chris's lovemaking in its full glory, and if she wanted to be honest with herself, she couldn't wait to find out what it would feel like in reality.

She hit the shower, and after drying and brushing her hair, she put on her make-up and one of her prettiest dresses, a lovely knee-length yellow sundress with thin straps, narrow around the bust and wider by the hem. She always felt beautiful in it, and she wanted to look her best for him today. She put on a pair of nice white pumps and glanced at the alarm clock by her bed. It read seven thirty. She grabbed her bag and left her apartment to wait outside for Chris.

Once she was on the sidewalk, she scanned the road expecting Chris's black Volkswagen to be parked and waiting for her. She saw plenty of cars, but there was no sign of his. Disappointment flashed in her eyes. If he had already been there, it would mean he was eager to be with her.

She checked her watch. Only five minutes had gone by, but to her it felt like eons. She kept staring at her watch as though trying to will it to go faster and bring Chris to her. All she stirred, though, was the memory of him kissing the back of her hand. She remembered every detail: how he had reached for her hand, how light his touch was, how slowly he had brought her hand to his mouth and how scorching his lips had felt on her skin. His kiss was imprinted on her hand. Another glance at her watch after a while told her that it was now five to eight. Has he forgotten all about me? she thought. If so, I'm going to be late. The bus has already left. I will have to find a taxi now.

She barely had time to finish that thought when she saw his Volkswagen coming round the corner. She smiled, relieved, when he pulled over. He got out and walked over to her. She gave him a quick once-over. He was more casually dressed today, in blue jeans, a light blue polo shirt and a dark blue blazer. Rita thought he looked much younger dressed like that. It suited him. Her smile widened once he stopped in front of her. "Good morning!" he said. "Sorry, I'm late! Did I make you wait long?"

"It's okay. Don't worry about it, but we probably should get going now or else we will be late."

"Yes, yes, of course. Come, then," he said and putting his arm around her waist, he led her to his car, held the door open for her, and Rita slipped inside.

"By the way, you look wonderful today," he said, as he was closing the door behind her.

Chris circled the car, got in and drove off, with Rita beaming at him all the way to school.

The minute he opened his eyes, Sam got off his bed and hurriedly got ready. He didn't want to waste even a second more than he had to, fooling around his house. He had to get near her as soon as possible and spend every single second of his day with his beautiful Rita. She didn't know it yet, but she was his.

This magnificent woman could belong only to him and none other, and starting today, he was going to show her that. The first thing he would do for her would be to fix her car. Then, she would be grateful to him and of course she would agree to repay him for his favor. That's when he would ask her out and she would not be able to decline. Yes! It was a well-thought-out plan. He had spent all night trying to come up with it.

What about the principal? a small voice chimed inside his head.

Sam snorted as he was walking to his car. That old fool is no match to me, he thought. He doesn't stand a chance with her. Rita needs a strong young man, not a disgusting old geezer. I will make sweet passionate love to her all night. What can he do, give her a peck on the cheek?

A devilish smile set on his lips as he was driving off.

Chris parked in his designated space and got out. He glanced at his watch as he went toward the passenger's seat. It was now eight thirty and the parking lot was clear of students, only the numerous cars of the teaching staff were present. Good, he thought as he was watching Rita getting out. Everything works perfectly, even in my absence.

"Shall we go in?" he asked her, offering his arm.

Rita took it, and they crossed the parking lot toward the school building. A few meters ahead, they saw Sam standing by Rita's car. Chris sped up, and in seconds they were both in front of the boy.

"What are you doing here?" Chris asked in a stern voice. "Why aren't you in class, Sam?"

"I am waiting for Rita. Eh, Miss Evans, I mean," he replied, looking straight at her.

"Look at me when I talk to you, boy!" Chris said.

Sam snorted but gave no reply, still keeping his gaze fixed on Rita.

Chris stepped right in front of Sam cutting off his view. "Go to your classroom, now!" he ordered.

"No, I want to fix Rita's car!" Sam retorted.

Chris fumed. "Stop calling her that. Show some respect, boy, or I'll teach it to you the hard way!"

Sam snorted into the principal's face. Having grown up in a house ruled by a military man, he was used to hearing orders all the time, and none of this scared him anymore. He knew how to evade his father, and he could surely evade this lesser man, as well.

"You don't scare me!" he said, chin up, voice steady, eyes full of defiance.

"Detention, Sam. Now! And stay there all day. If I see you again before the end of the day, I'm calling your father." Chris was angry at the boy's insolence, but he kept his voice controlled. He didn't want Rita to think badly of him. "Christopher," she said, and he turned his gaze toward her.

"Please, let him go this time. He will behave from now on, I am sure. He is just a boy," she continued and placed her hand on his arm.

Chris held Rita's begging green eyes. He put his hand over hers and gently patted it to reassure her. Rita smiled at him, and he breathed steadily to calm himself more. They walked toward the main entrance.

Sam was watching them in awe. How does she stand touching him? he thought. He is repulsive. She should have come to me. I'm strong. I stood my ground for her. I am not afraid of him. Even if he had tried to hit me, I would have kicked his old ass.

He felt betrayed. He couldn't fathom why she was sweet to Chris now. He had offered to fix her car. He would have done anything for her. Why was she acting like that? And why did she keep calling him a boy? He was a man, not a boy! Sam stood there, face clouded by his thoughts. Just before they went inside, Chris turned his head and sent him a cold look.

This isn't over, thought Sam. Let the games begin! I always win. Rita will be mine!

For the next few days, Sam pretended to be invisible. He stayed away from Chris and even avoided eye contact with Rita inside the classroom.

However, a well-thought-out strategy had already set in his mind. All he needed was to find the right time to put it in effect. He monitored every move she made, figuring out her routine at school. It was frustrating to see her with the principal. She was getting overly attached to him. Chris also showed his preference to her over the other female teachers, spending lunchtimes sitting beside her. That infuriated Sam even more, but he knew that once he got his way, Rita would never leave his side again.

It was a week later when Sam decided to make his first move. He drove to school early that day. Not many students were there when he arrived. He walked straight to his classroom. He checked around the corridor, making sure that no one would see him enter.

When he left the room, he was beaming full of confidence that Rita would not be able to resist his surprise. He quickly headed back to the parking lot to wait for his friends.

A while after, they all entered their classroom and took their seats to wait for Miss Evans' arrival. Sam tried hard to conceal his excitement. Five minutes later, Rita came in holding her books. She greeted her students with a smile and walked to her desk. Sam couldn't take his eyes off her. She looked beautiful in her light blue sundress and black high heels. Her hair was swept up in a tight ponytail and she had done her make-up to perfection. Rita sat down, opened her book, and read aloud.

As the lesson progressed, Sam grew restless since she still hadn't discovered his surprise gift. He sighed in grateful relief when one of his classmates asked Miss Evans to note something down on the blackboard. In search of a piece of chalk, she opened the slim drawer in the middle of her desk. Sam was watching her intensely, waiting for her reaction. A broad smile set on his lips when a blush formed on her face. Clearly unsettled, she picked up a piece of chalk, closed the drawer, and continued her lesson. Quite often, her gaze darted toward the drawer. Sam was ecstatic, seeing how affected she was.

At the end of the lesson, all the students picked up their things and quickly left the room. Sam took his time, though, wanting to see what Rita would do. She stood beside her desk staring at the closed drawer. She seemed to be lost in thoughts.

Sam moved closer to her. His voice startled her.

"Are you all right, Miss?"

"Eh, yes! Yes, I'm fine," she said, getting her bearings again. "Do you need something, Sam?"

He shook his head and left the classroom, only to stand behind the slightly ajar door to watch her.

The moment Sam was out of the room, she sat at her desk and retrieved her gift, a beautiful red rose. She brought it to her face and smelled the fragrant flower closing her eyes to relish it. She smiled broadly and held it dearly near her heart. Sam was satisfied. She liked his first gift. His plan was on the right track. He walked to his next class, already having decided what his gift for the morrow would be.
