Chapter 81 The Lockes Share Blessings

Soon e enough, Adrian arranged for a nearby car. After Farrah got in, she sent him a WhatsApp message to let him know she was safe and added, “Thank you for your concern.”

Glancing at the message with a stoic expression, Adrian didn’t reply.

Farrah held her phone as she waited for a response, feeling a bit puzzled. He was clearly concerned about her, so why act so aloof? Is it really that hard to communicate properly?

They both returned home one after the other, and Farrah’s heart felt warm.

She sensed he cared about her. After entering the house, she asked, “I noticed you didn’t eat much tonight. Are you hungry?”

“No,” Adrian replied coldly, thinking that this woman was truly clueless. Even after Jordan had confronted her, she hadn’t mentioned it to him.

Wanting to make their life together better, Farrah expressed her gratitude, “Thank you for sending someone to pick me up.”

He could hear the slight excitement in her voice, an attempt to maintain this marriage.

Turning his gaze toward her, he frowned slightly. “I was just worried that Jordan might target you again. I don’t want anything to happen to you because of me. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be able to explain it to Philip. So, no need to thank me. I didn’t mean anything else.”

A few impersonal words completely extinguished her joy.

Farrah met his gaze but said nothing. Watching his back as he walked toward the study, she wondered if Corey had told him everything?

Adrian was clearly being nice to her, even worrying about her safety, so why did he have to distance himself? Couldn’t he just admit it?

Farrah sighed softly. He had gone into the study again, Was he still busy with work? They had to go to work tomorrow. Was he going to be working late again?

As his wife, she was a bit worried about him.

There was indeed a lot of good food tonight, but Farrah hadn’t eaten much. After all, high–end events weren’t meant for hearty eating.

Now, she was hungry.

She opened the refrigerator, took out the last bag of ravioli, and headed to the kitchen. Soon, they were cooked

Adrian could smell the aroma from the study. His stomach couldn’t help but start to rumble. But five

and Farrah hadn’t come in to invite him to eat.

Unable to resist the temptation of ravioli, Adrian finally got up and went to the dining room, his deep gaze fixed steadily on her.

As footsteps approached and a shadow fell over her, Farrah, who was sitting at the dining table, had just bitten into a ravioll when she looked up and met Adrian’s eyes.

Unhurriedly, he said, “You’re eating alone?”

She blinked, chewed a few times, and swallowed the rayloli in her mouth. “I asked if you were hungry when we came in, and you said you weren’t.”

“I’m hungry now.”

Hearing this, she held her breath. “There’s no more ravioli left–just these.”

He said nothing as his gaze fell on her bowl, where there were probably only seven or eight pieces left.

Following his gaze, Farrah looked down at her own bowl. She sighed lightly. “Wait a moment.” She got up to fetch another bowl and a set of cutlery.

Adrian didn’t stop her. When she returned, she divided half of her ravioli into his bowl, handed him the cutlery, and said, “One has to share one’s blessings. Here you go.”

He took the cutlery and bowl, then sat down opposite her. He began eating as if no one else were there. Having resisted ravioli for many years, Adrian had recently come to like it.

“Your favorite filling is mushroom and chicken, right?” Farrah had made the observation recently. make some more tomorrow when I have time and put it in the fridge.”

Adrian didn’t object, which made her quite happy.

Soon, Jodie sent her a message saying that Mason had chosen a high school he wanted to attend after comparing options. This high school was one that Farrah had also researched. It had a high college admission rate, strict teachers, a positive environment, and was a prestigious school in the city.

Transferring into it was extremely difficult. The requirements to attend the school were more than just good grades. You also had to prove local residency and home ownership.

But for her brother, she decided to give it a shot. She asked Adrian, “Adrian, my brother has picked a school, but it’s very hard to get in. Could you-”

“Which school? Adrian finished his last ravioli, put down his cutlery, and gently interrupted her.
