Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 949

Holding his mother's face, little Henry felt neglected as she wouldn't look at him, causing him to pout and cry.

Mia quickly scooped up her darling, "What's wrong, sweetie? Let Mommy see."

Anya had just gotten home, too. With the early sunset and chilly weather, Leo had brought her back early. She explained to Mia, "Auntie, Henry was trying to get your attention, but you were too focused on Uncle, and he felt left out." Andre put down his wife's purse and beckoned his son with a smile, "Come here, buddy, let Dad give you a hug."

In his dad's arms, Andre softly patted Henry's little back and gently wiped his tears before settling on the sofa. "Molly's back, by the way."

Molly raised her hand, "Andre, I'm tattling on you!"

The day's events were recounted. Hansen glanced guiltily at his son, but Mia said, "As long as someone looks after my boy, I'm not fussed about how. I'm too busy with Henry's first birthday party to worry."

"Mia, what's keeping you so busy?" Molly asked, curious.

Mia started listing, "I have to check the catering, oversee the decorations, and then there's the cake. It's just too much."

Molly, ever the one for shortcuts, suggested, "Why not just hire someone to handle it all?"

Andre looked at his wife with amusement, "Molly might have a point."

Mia shot back, "And why don't you pay someone to celebrate your son's first birthday, then?"

Andre went quiet.

Anya chimed in, "Everyone has their own way. Auntie wants Henry to feel the love from his parents, while Aunt Molly prefers to take the easy route."

Molly teased, "You cheeky thing..."

Not long after, Chad and Bruce returned to the living room.

"... Your team has been assigned the lecture task. You're to attend personally and ensure it goes well. Start with Havenbrook University as a trial, with an officer assigned to each school," Bruce said, entering the room and scooping up his little nephew. With his nephew in his arms, Bruce's mood lifted. "And let's not forget about fraud prevention. As the year ends, we need to be vigilant against crime. Chad, you need to be on top of this."

Chad nodded, "Got it, big brother."

Molly, ever curious, asked, "Big brother, what's this lecture about?"

Bruce, relaxed at home, responded, "Our chat the other day got me thinking. We're planning some safety talks across city universities."

Molly exchanged a look with Mia, then asked, "But why's Chad doing it?"

"Because of his uniform," Bruce replied.

Chad, settling next to his wife, asked with affection, "You've popped back again?"

"How did you know I was back?" Molly wondered, then quickly changed the topic.

Chad teased, "Married couples have a sixth sense."

Molly, having heard it all before, just shrugged. "Mia, do you buy that?"

Mia glanced at her husband and replied dryly, "Not a bit."

As the word spread, universities started getting ready. Mia continued her classes during the day and checked on the hotel arrangements afterward, wanting to ensure everything was perfect. Luckily, Andre's work meant he knew plenty of good venues. The lecture at Havenbrook University was set for the end of October.

Anya, now the family news source, shared, "Our school's got class reps from freshmen to seniors attending, who will then brief their classmates."

Molly asked, "When's this happening?"

Anya replied, "Wednesday at 4 p.m., in the lecture hall."

Molly grabbed her phone and called her mom, "Hey, Coleen, I need a day off."

Coleen, exasperated, sighed, "... You need to ask your boss for that!"

Molly responded, "You should've said so. I'll call my supervisor."

Ryan, the strict manager, was feared by everyone except Molly, who feared nothing-not even the CEO. Her colleagues often asked, "Molly, is there anything you do fear?" Jade pondered, then said, "Falling into someone's trap?"

When Ryan heard Molly wanted time off, she asked, "What's the reason?"

Molly replied, "A matter of principle."

"Huh?"

Still, the leave was granted.

On Wednesday, Molly returned home, snapped a picture of Henry napping, and shared it in the family chat before heading out.

Hansen woke to find his grandson missing and, seeing the photo Molly posted, stomped his foot in the living room, shouting, "Molly never lets me have a peaceful day!"

Meanwhile, at Havenbrook University, Chad was discussing the lecture content with school officials.

Anya, with her notebook and pen, queued up and followed the guidance counselor into the large lecture hall.

Seeing a familiar figure in uniform, she felt a surge of excitement and pride, "Uncle!"

Officer Chad turned, spotted Anya, and with a smile, nodded, "Go on in, find a seat."

He continued his chat with the school staff, who asked, "Officer Chad, you have a niece here?"

Chad nodded, "Yup, my whole family's at Havenbrook-nephews, nieces, my wife, and sister-in-law."

Not long after, Molly arrived with a now-awake Henry, still sleepy-eyed and curious about the new surroundings. He had no clue how he ended up here from his grandpa's arms.

Babies have it tough, with no say in anything.

In the lecture hall, Molly spotted Chad, "Hey, Chad."

Chad turned, surprised, "What are you doing here?"

He quickly took his sleepy nephew into his arms, "Weren't you supposed to be at work?"

Molly grinned, "I took the day off. Show me your hand, are you wearing your wedding ring?"

Chad realized Molly was there to make sure no female students

showing up, visibly pregnant, to stake her claim, even bringing a baby along for extra attention!

He chuckled, pinched her cheek, "You're always thinking ahead. Come on in, it's starting soon, and Anya's inside too. She can help with the baby." "Wow, Anya's a class rep now," Molly said, hurrying inside and scanning the room filled with students, but she couldn't spot Anya. Eventually, Anya saw the notably pregnant woman. "Auntie!" She also saw her favorite little one, "Oh wow, the baby came too." Standing up, waving, she called, "Auntie, over here."

Molly finally saw her.

Chad, holding his nephew, greeted the school officials, ensuring a few seats in the front were saved for them.

"Officer Chad, I didn't realize you were a young dad," the officials commented, seeing him with the child, "Such a cute kid, with those chubby cheeks." Henry waved his hand, keeping strangers at bay.

Chad smiled, "This is my nephew,

from the principal's family. My own isn't here yet, still cozy in his mom's belly." He turned, his gaze softening as he looked at his pregnant wife.
