Chapter Richest Mogul 1304
Chapter 1304
In Jipsburg City, the bustling shopping mall was filled with people. Today, several authors were holding a book signing event.
A large crowd of fans had gathered. Although Mona was an online writer, she had gained significant popularity over the past two years. Several of her works had been sold for high prices to film companies, and two of her books had even been adapted into TV dramas that quickly became ratings champions.
As her book signing event wrapped up, Mona decided to explore the upper floors to buy some home goods and decorations for her and Steven’s new apartment.
While she was shopping in one of the stores, someone suddenly called out to her. “Mona?”
She assumed it was a fan and turned around, greeting the person with a smile. “Hello.”
Maisy scrutinized Mona. Mona’s appearance was relatively ordinary, with only her striking eyes standing out.
To her surprise, Steven had become so successful but had ended up marrying someone so ordinary–an online writer from humble beginnings.
“You probably don’t know me, but I know you,” Maisy said, looking at Mona as if she were
one of her many past classmates and acquaintances.
Those people always seemed foolish to her, easily manipulated by her schemes. Mona was exactly the type of person Maisy despised–a naïve girl who seemed sheltered from the darker
sides of life.
Just a moment ago, while signing books for her fans, Mona had been so caring and kind, and that innocent demeanor really rubbed Maisy the wrong way.
Mona smiled and nodded, not thinking too much of it, as she acknowledged Maisy.
Maisy suppressed her irritation and replied with a strained smile, “I’m Steven’s sister. I haven’t been in Jipsburg for a few years, so we haven’t met. I’d like to discuss something with you. Can we sit down at the café downstairs?”
“Steven’s sister? A cousin?” Mona asked, a bit surprised.
In the years she had been with Steven, she had only met his two younger brothers and his
sister, Skylar. She knew there was a cousin back in their hometown, but they weren’t close, and she hadn’t seen her in Jipsburg.
Maisy didn’t deny it. “Let’s go. We can talk more downstairs.”
Mona hesitated for a moment but then decided to follow Maisy. If Steven’s cousin wanted to talk to her, it must be something important.

With that thought in mind, she agreed to go.
On the first floor, there was a popular café. Recently, a superstar filmed a scene there, attracting many fans eager to visit and take photos.
Seeing the crowd comforted Mona. It was daytime, so nothing too concerning could happen. Once they sat down, Mona took the initiative to order two cups of coffee.
Maisy looked at Mona, an ordinary woman who somehow seemed to surpass her in every aspect. With a hint of sarcasm in her voice, she said, “My brother treats you well. You publish novels and sell film rights, so I bet you’re making a lot of money?”
Right now, she was doing everything she could to secure a place to live, often sacrificing her own dignity. The clothes she wore were from the night market and of extremely poor quality— things that used to cost just a few dollars were something she wouldn’t have even looked at before.
She could easily see that Mona’s clothes cost at least several thousand dollars, and her handbag was the latest style. That was the lifestyle she once enjoyed, so she couldn’t hide her envy and jealousy toward Mona.
Mona was puzzled by Maisy’s slightly sour tone.
But then it clicked. She understood.
In her books, she often wrote about characters like this. People who were unsatisfied with their own lives and envied what others had.
