Chapter Refusing 112
Chapter 112
Besides sending Julia to work, Harry would also come to the company to pick her up after work. After several days of this routine, Julia noticed that Harry was becoming increasingly strange. They were a married couple on the surface, so it seemed normal for Harry to drop However, Harry had never treated Julia like this before, and their marital relationship was more of a facade than a reality. Everyone knew their marriage was more of a show, and they didn't need to pretend to be an intimate couple.
On this day, Julia left work as usual. She and Valerie had just reached the company's entrance. In the morning, Harry had driven her to work, so Julia hadn't brought her car. She was about to hail a taxi to go home when Valerie pointed to the black Bentley parked ahead. "Isn't that Harry's impressive car?" Valerie pointed out. Valerie had recently become familiar with a lot of fancy license plates and rare luxury cars. Once again, she marveled at Harry's wealth and the extravagance of the élite. the
Their home's fleet of cars was like toys to them, allowing them to choose whichever they wanted to drive. Each car on the road was a symbol of luxury, attracting the attention of passersby.
Julia followed Valerie's gaze and saw the same car Harry had used to drop her off in the morning. However, she hadn't received any calls or messages from him, so she instinctively assumed he wouldn't be able to pick her up. She didn't feel inclined to ask Harry, nor did she want to bother him. She had made up her mind. Tomorrow, she would definitely drive to and from work on her own. Waiting for Harry to pick her up every day was truly inconvenient. Hold you Harry would definitely come to pick you up, but you didn't believe me. I should have made a bet with you." Valerie rolled her eyes. "I don't understand why, but you seem very resistant to Harry"
Julia remained silent as she parted ways with Valerie and walked ahead. Suddenly, Alden emerged from the driver's seat and respectfully stood before her. "Mrs. Wright. Mr. Wright is still in meeting, so he sent me to pick you up from work" "Harry is still in a meeting?" Julia asked.
"Yes," Alden replied.
Julia thought for a moment, feeling slightly more at ease in Alders presence than with Harry.
Alden was not much of a talker like Harry, making the atmosphere in the car quite dull. However, Julia managed to occupy herself with her phone, looking through the materials Kathy had sent her. Just as she was engrossed in her reading, Alden suddenly spoke up. "Mrs. Wright,"
Julia glanced up, but Alden seemed hesitant to continue.
"If you have something to say, just say it, Julia urged.
Alden seemed unsure of what to say. Ultimately, he remained silent, leaving Julia puzzled. She had intended to continue reviewing the documents, but Alden's hesitation had disrupted her peace of mind. She decided to put away her phone and looked directly at Alden. As if sensing Julia's gaze, Alden immediately focused on driving without uttering another word.
Julia was puzzled. She thought about Harry's recent unusual behaviors and Alden's close association with Harry. Alden was Harry's most trusted man, so perhaps she could glean something from Alden.
So, she smiled at him and asked, "What has Harry been busy with lately? He seems to have a lot of free
time:
"Actually, Mr. Wright is busy every day. Today, he couldn't make it to pick you up himself," Alden replied, glancing at Julia through the rearview mirror. "Usually, picking you up is a task he handles personally." 1/3 09:11 Fri, Nov 15 B BU.

"I was just making conversation out of boredom," Julia said, not wanting Alden to keep praising Harry in front of her. "By the way, what's the situation between Harry and Arya lately? Have they been arguing?" "No, Mr. Wright hasn't been seeing Miss Hill much lately. Miss Hill often calls Mr. Wright, but he hasn't gone to meet her," Alden answered.
"Why?" Julia blurted out without hesitation. "Isn't he very fond of Arya? Has he lost interest now?"
Indeed, men could change their minds as quickly as women changed their moods.
Julia felt that Harry had been ignoring Arya recently because he no longer liked Arya. That was the only logical explanation. But why would Harry suddenly lose interest in Arya? He had caused quite a stir before because of her.
It seemed that men's promises were all lies. Love or dislike, men were genuine about both. Judging by Harry's attitude towards Arya, Julia found it hard to believe whether emotions were essential or secondary to men.
Perhaps, in a man's world, emotions were neither essential nor secondary. They were simply
inconsequential. What mattered most to them was fulfilling their physical needs. That was the true nature of men's treatment of women. To put it bluntly, it was all about satisfying their physical needs.
Harry hadn't been seeing Arya lately, and yet Arya remained quiet. It was a stark contrast to how things used to be. Previously, Arya would have come looking for trouble.
So, Julia felt that something was amiss with the current situation. However, she couldn't articulate the reason. She had tried to extract some information from Alden. Despite their lengthy conversation, Alden had only spoken highly of Harry. However, what was more importa was the subtle message Alden conveyed about how well Harry treated her.
For Julia, who already had doubts about Harry's feelings towards her, this only made her more uncomfortable. She didn't want to continue chatting with Alden and preferred to stay quiet
Julia looked out the window, knowing this wasn't the route home. She was aware that Alden was taking her to the Wright Group
Julia didn't bother asking why. She knew she could only find out what she wanted from Harry in person.
Soon, they arrived at the Wright Group
Despite being married to Harry for many years, Julia rarely visited the
Wright Group. Even Arya, who had recently returned from abroad, had visited more times than Julia. Most people in the company were familiar with Arya. When they saw Julia, who rarely came, it inevitably sparked some gossip, Expressionless, Julia walked ahead of Alden until he directed her to Harry's office.
"Mrs. Wright, Mr. Wright asked you to wait for him here," Alden informed her.
Julia nodded. Since Alden couldn't give her the answers she sought, she would patiently wait for Harry to finish his work
The office was as cold and sterile as Harry himself, with minimal decorations that reflected his preferences, predominantly black, white, and gray.
In her boredom, Julia sat in Harry's chair and caught sight of some documents open on the desk. She swore she didn't mean to pry, but a few words on the document caught her eye, and her curiosity got the better of her.
