Rebirth In Divorce: My New Mr. Perfect

Chapter PERFET 273

Chapter 273

Yasmine absentmindedly finished taking photos, feeling gloomy all afternoon. On the way back, she didn't say much.

But Lucy was quite happy. "Seeing you like this actually makes me glad, Yasmine. When you're feeling sad or upset, it's okay to stop and feel it for a while. No one expects you to keep up appearances all the time. When you're down, take a moment to sulk. If you need to, have a good cry. You've been too exhausted pretending to be strong. At least with me and Morgan, be your true self."

Yasmine let out a bitter laugh, caught up in a back and forth with Yonas. She was always torn between moments of happiness and sadness, softening when Yonas sought her out, yet feeling down when she saw him with Irene.

Lucy checked the time; it was only nine in the evening. "Stop the car!" she told the driver, "Turn around to Paragon Hotel."

Yasmine looked at her suspiciously but didn't stop her.

Lucy led her straight to Chuck's office at the Paragon Hotel. Seeing Chuck reminded her of Yonas, which made her angry. She immediately said, "Stop! Don't say anything to me right now. Just seeing you makes me think of your lousy cousin Yonas. Hand over the beef jerky."

Chuck pulled two pig trotters out of a nearby bag with a wry smile. "Well, at least you didn't forget the beef jerky."

"How can you two be the same?" Lucy snatched one and handed it to Yasmine. "Here, I couldn't give you one at the party yesterday, so we'll make it a daily thing from now on."

Yasmine accepted it, and she had to admit Chuck's skills were top-notch. Even before opening the package, the enticing aroma made her mouth water. They stood in front of Paragon Hotel gnawing on beef jerky, catching curious glances from passersby and hotel guests alike.

Yasmine had never tried squatting by the roadside to eat beef jerky, but it turned out to be quite enjoyable.

It was ten in the evening. Lucy gave Yasmine a meaningful look, "Let's go. I'm taking you somewhere tonight, darling. Remember, you owe me big time for this."

The car drove along Xijin Avenue, weaving through long streets, and finally stopped at an alley in the busiest district. They walked into a bar, and standing at the entrance, Lucy placed a hand on Yasmine's shoulder, laughing, "Tonight, try not to think about that jerk. Want to hear some motivational words?" "Sure, let's hear it," Yasmine said.

Lucy cleared her throat and said with a rhythmic tone, "Oh my dear Yasmine, you need to realize that there's more to life than just love. You've got your life, friendship, and family. Don't be sad, don't lose hope. The path ahead is just around the corner..."

Yasmine quickly pulled her inside, "Why are you talking like you're reciting poetry?"

"Not into this one? I have different versions. Wanna hear the nightclub style?" Lucy offered. Yasmine raised an eyebrow, "Go on."

"There are 3.5 billion men in the world! Our Yasmine is so beautiful and outstanding, why tie yourself to just one tree? Don't give up the whole forest for one tree." Just as she finished, Lucy grabbed Yasmine's wrist, "Come on, let me show you a part of this forest today." Inside the Inkwell Bar, the mysterious and enchanting lights spilled over the multicolored glasses, creating an illusion like shadows sinking to the bottom of the bottles, giving a fleeting sense of disappearance. In this flickering and dim lighting, one hungry soul after another swayed in devotion on the dance floor.

The music was turned up so high that Yasmine couldn't hear the person next to her talk, watching as two people near the booth were practically shouting at each other to be heard. Men and women in the dance floor were pouring out madness and all sorts of complex

emotions, because only here could they let go of everything.

Ever since she hooked up with Chuck twice, he explicitly banned Lucy from stepping foot in the bar. But for her friends, she didn't mind! "Yasmine, do you want to go dancing? I hear people say you can lose yourself here. If you're feeling down, why not just relax here for a bit?".

Yasmine found a seat at the bar and casually ordered a glass of champagne, taking just one sip before putting it down. Last night, she had drunk too much high-end wine at a tasting event, and the exquisite taste still lingered in her mouth. There was no way she could drink champagne now.

Yasmine sat quietly, recalling how she used to come here with Lucy before she met Xavier. Back then, they were young and fearless, never having encountered any real trouble. But now, she couldn't even find a drink to numb her senses. "Make me something that'll help me forget," she told the bartender.

Meanwhile, on the dance floor, Lucy was happily grooving. "Yasmine, come on, join us!"

Yasmine waved her hand, not in the mood for fun right now.

At White Group, Irene was busy handling matters. She wanted to collaborate with the Chavez family, but Yasmine beat her to it. Her phone rang, and she answered, sounding annoyed, "What's up? Where? Hmm, got it."

After hanging up the phone, Irene smiled, saved and closed the document on her computer, and grabbed her bag before heading out.

"What? We've been found out?" Yonas frowned, deep in thought.

The assistant, looking nervous, continued, "The other side is very alert. If we touch the files carelessly, someone comes over right away to stop us."

Yonas pinched the bridge of his nose, "Got it. Let's put this matter aside for now. I heard the White family's factory in Canalshore ran into some issues a few days ago?"

The assistant was sweating bullets, "News from Canalshore says a master worker pulled an all-nighter and mixed the wrong barrels during his shift the next day. The machine exploded, killing several people. But as soon as it happened, the person in many died." charge sealed off the area, so no one else saw how

"Alright, keep an eye on it," Yonas instructed.

"Yes, Mr. Russell," the assistant quickly replied and left. Once the office was empty, Yonas got up and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, dialing a number. "Let's start tomorrow."

The reply from the other side was a simple, "Okay."

The Russell Group towered sky-high, with Yonas's office on the twenty-eighth floor, offering an unobstructed view of all Soucrity. Everyone else in the office had left, but he stayed to take care of business. He had been plotting and planning for a long time, and tomorrow would be the first strike.

Turning his face slightly, he looked at a photo on the bookshelf, capturing Yasmine asleep. It was a picture he had secretly taken, printed out, and placed on the shelf. His fingers hovered over Yasmine's phone number for a long time, but he didn't call. It was so late; who knows if she's asleep.
