Yelena was driven mad by Jeremiah's remarks. Her eyes were bloodshot, and her face was distorted with anger. She shook off Camden's hand and uttered tearfully, "Fine. Even if you don't mind your fiancée being acquainted with Spaunia pirates, helping us save the hostage doesn't cancel out the harm she's done to me. I'd only had a few conversations with her before she pushed me into the pool and hurt me badly. It's a fact that she's caused irreversible damage to my body"
She paused before continuing, "If Yvette doesn't apologize, I'll certainly sue her. Even though she's an Interpol officer, the latest international law states that unless she's a Secret Special Agent, she doesn't have the right to attack a military officer of any country without
reason.
"We're in Clusia, and I'm a Clusian military officer. I'm protected by Clusia's law."
Yelena sounded so righteous that everyone in the conference room was swept up by her emotion.
Camden was stunned as she looked so unfamiliar to him. He mused, 'I saw Yelena do that to herself, but what she's saying now makes it seem that Mr. Chavez's fiancée had beaten her up.
'She said it so confidently as if she were telling the truth. How did my sweet daughter become like this? I thought Yelena only wanted an apology and didn't expect things to escalate to this point.'
Meanwhile, a sarcastic smile crept on Tim's face. He sneered inwardly. 'Yelena was fully aware of Yvette's identity as an Interpol officer but still took the risk. Mr. Chavez does have overwhelming charm.
'It's actually a good thing that I wasn't too handsome when I was young. It saved me a lot of trouble.
Jeremiah narrowed his eyes and spoke coldly. "Yelena, do you really think no one knows how you got injured?"
Before he could finish his words, the conference room door opened. He paused and shifted his gaze to the entrance. His eyes twinkled with surprise and delight at the sight. Everyone else in the conference room, including Camden and Yelena, also turned to the door. Yelena looked at the person standing at the door in shock. Her eyes were instantly filled with hatred. A deep sense of anger resentment, and humiliation surged within her, making her face look malicious.
Most people in the room were puzzled, unsure of what was happening. Almost everyone recognized Emmett, but no one knew Yvette. Nevertheless, some observant people had already guessed her identity upon seeing her face.
The First Military District was a secret and highly restricted area in Betrico that no one could ever break into. Thus, there was only one possibility-the gorgeous lady standing in front of them was the main focus that day-Jeremiah's fiancée- Yvette. After all, Jeremiah was known for having a beautiful fiancée in the military residences.
Tim was surprised to see Yvette at the doorway. He looked thoughtfully at Jeremiah, realizing that Jeremiah had failed to keep the matter under wraps. That was why Yvette had shown up there.
Unfazed by the various gazes from the crowd, Yvette walked into the conference room leisurely, radiating an intense presence. Emmett respectfully followed behind her with a solemn expression.
Yvette walked up to Jeremiah and flashed him a half-smile. Staring at him, she said casually, "I'll settle the score with you later at home."
Jeremiah smirked, and the cold, intense aura that surrounded him earlier vanished completely in Yvette's presence. His voice was slightly hoarse as he replied, "Sure."
Jeremiah's sudden change gave everyone in the scene goosebumps. Everyone was stunned and wondered, 'What's happening? Has the Living Reaper turned into a gentle, girlfriend-centered guy now?"

Suddenly, Jeremiah cast them a look. They instinctively lowered their heads and mused, 'No doubt Mr. Chavez has a double standard. When it comes to his fiancée, he's always sweet and gentle, but with us, he won't even spare a smile. Emmett observed the crowd's reactions from the sidelines and thought, 'What a bunch of ignorant people! What's so strange about Mr. Chavez being gentle with Yvette?'
He forgot that he used to be shocked by Jeremiah's attitude toward Yvette but slowly got used to it as time passed.
Yelena trembled in anger at the scene. She couldn't fathom why Jeremiah was so devoted to Yvette.
Yvette withdrew her gaze and turned to Yelena, whose eyes were filled with malicious intent. Her relaxed stance contrasted with the latter's frivolous yet icy stare.
After seeing the medical report on the table, Yvette picked it up and casually flipped through it. Her expression remained unchanged but carried a hint of amusement and defiance. She looked at Yelena and asked slowly, "I hurt you on purpose?" Yelena straightened her neck and stared at Yvette furiously, wishing she could kill the latter with her gaze. In a loud voice, she replied, "Yes. Back in Spaunia, I knew you were Jeremiah's fiancée and tolerated your arrogance and insolence. I tried to befriend you. "But after a few conversations, you treated me as an enemy. I already clarified that I had no feelings whatsoever for Jeremiah. I wish you two the best, but what happened in the end?
"You just wouldn't leave me alone. You pushed me into the pool and beat me up, leaving me with lifelong injuries. All I'm asking for is an apology. Is that too much? Everyone, am I being unreasonable?"
Yelena's accusations were compelling enough to sway the sympathy of everyone in the scene, except for Jeremiah, Yvette, and Emmett, who knew that the truth was far from her narrative. Tim, on the other hand, remained indifferent.
He mused, "The truth shrouldn't rely solely on one person's word. The fact that Samantha can be friends with Yvette already shows that there's absolutely nothing wrong with Yvette's character, and Yvette will never hurt others without a reason.
'I believe in Samantha's taste in choosing friends. She's much wiser than Andrew, and I'll trust anyone she trusts, too.
Yelena looked at Yvette after her outburst. Unfortunately, Yvette's eyes still didn't carry any hint of fear or panic Yelena had anticipated. Instead, Yvette's expression was as cold and calm as ever.
Not only did Yvette not get angry, but there was even a faint smile on her face.
Yelena gritted her teeth and bellowed inwardly, Just keep pretending, Yvette! Let's see if you can still be so calm later!"
Yvette narrowed her eyes. Her gaze was steady and calm as if what was happening had nothing to do with her. She strolled toward Yelena, looked at her malicious face, and suddenly chuckled.
"You know, one of my greatest strengths is my willingness to fulfill people's wishes. Since you claim I hurt you on purpose, I'll make that happen for you. No need to thank me. It's the least I can do," Yvette slowly muttered.
