Chapter Secrets Of MrS 694

Chapter 694

The central seat of the First Military District in Betrico was now vacant. On both sides sat important officials from the First Military District and representatives from other military district

There were 13 high-ranking officers in the conference room, and a solemn silence filled the air. Each face bore the same serious expression.

Everyone was well aware of the main topic of today's meeting was about Jeremiah's fiancée, and this was no small matter. She was Jase and Clifford's future granddaughter-in-law and Jeremiah's fiancée. Her status was already unquestionable with these three titles attached to her name.

Tim was also here, his eyes lowered, his gaze deep. Samantha had considered Yvette a good friend, and after she found out about this matter, she insisted that he cancel today's training and attend the hearing. She wanted to know the results as soon as possible. His daughter was the most important to him, so Tim had no choice but to do as she asked. In fact, Samantha also asked Tim to stand by Yvette. Tim adored his daughter, and he remembered Samantha's request for his help.

Yelena and her father, Camden Lynch, were seated on the right side. They were the first to arrive. His expression was extremely unpleasant. Camden was currently head of Treasury Department, a role with significant authority.

If Yelena hadn't threatened Camden, saying she'd end her life if he didn't stand up for her, Camden would never have dared to oppose Jeremiah.

Left with no choice, Camden, who had only this one daughter in his life, couldn't just sit back and watch her harm herself. He had no option but to take the risk.

Camden had escalated the matter to such a point that the relationship between the Lynch family and the Chavez family was essentially over.

However, Camden knew Jase would never abuse his power for personal vengeance. The Chavez family was known for their strict discipline, so he wasn't worried about retaliation.

As for Jeremiah's fiancée, plenty of rumors were circulating in Betrico, but no one knew for sure if they were true. If it weren't for the Chavez family backing her, the Lynch family wouldn't even consider her worth their attention.

Yelena sat in her seat, her gaze sweeping over the people in the conference room before slowly lowering her eyes, hiding the resentment within them. Whenever Yelena thought about Yvette throwing her into the pool, she couldn't stop herself from trembling.

She had never suffered such humiliation before. Yelena swore she would make Yvette pay. So, when she returned to Betrico, she deliberately covered herself in injuries and obtained a medical injury report.

With the report in hand, she immediately reported the matter to the authorities, making a big deal out of it.

She wanted to see how a woman with a tarnished reputation, accused of deliberately assaulting a military officer, could possibly become the future mistress of the Chavez family.

Camden's gaze fell on Tim beside him. He had always wanted to build a good relationship with Tim, as it would be beneficial in the military. However, the right opportunity never arose-until now, when he saw him here unexpectedly.

From what he knew, Tim's schedule didn't include this meeting. Was he here to cause trouble? Rumors about Samantha and Jeremiah had been circulating for years. The Mitchells must surely be upset that this mysterious woman was swooping in. Camden thought momentarily, then smiled and cautiously asked Tim, "Mr. Mitchell, what brings you here today?"

Only a dozen people were in the conference room, and as soon as Camden spoke, everyone turned their attention to them.

When Tim heard Cainen's words, he glanced at Camden briefly before sipping on his coffee cup. Ifis attitude was indifferent, and his expression was serious.

In a deep voice, he said, "Just having a look."

Camden was an old hand at this and could easily read Tim's attitude. His heart sank, but he forced an awkward smile and continued trying to cozy up to him.

"Mr. Mitchell, Ms. Mitchell is famously outstanding in Betrico. We all thought that only Mr. Chavez could match her. What a pity. No matter how exceptional Mr. Chavez's fiancée may be, she could never compare to Ms. Mitchell, Camden said. When Yelena heard Camden's words, her gaze grew even colder and her palms clenched tightly. She had once believed that Samantha was the obstacle in her way. Who would have thought it would be a woman entirely outside their social circle? Tim placed his coffee cup on the table. The sharp sound of the cap hitting the surface echoed through the silent conference room, startling everyone. The sudden reaction left the attendees puzzled, unsure of what had triggered it.

Tim frowned deeply. With a cold snort, he made no effort to hide his displeasure. Anyone could tell his mood was far from good.

Tim thought that Camden and his daughter were digging their own graves, but now they even had the nerve to spout such nonsense in front of everyone.

Camden froze for a moment, then his expression darkened slightly. He didn't understand Tim's reaction.

Tim fixed his gaze on Camden, who emanated the imposing aura of a seasoned military officer. Someone like Camden had no chance of standing up to such pressure.

Tim said, "Mr. Lynch, let me make this clear. Samantha and Mr. Chavez grew up together as children of the same community, sharing a deep friendship-nothing more. The rumors circulating in Betrico are baseless.

"Furthermore, Mr. Jeremiah Chavez's fiancée is an exceptional woman. There's no need to compare two outstanding women by elevating one and belittling the other."

After a pause, Tim advised, "Mr. Lynch, be careful. Trouble often comes from careless words."

Tim didn't show Camden any respect and didn't even want to look at Camden and Yelena. The Lynch family's fate after today was all too clear.

They had no idea how protective the Chavez family was if they could do something so foolish. Anyone the Chavez family acknowledged would be protected for three generations. How could the Lynch family think they could bully them? Samantha had already hinted to him that Yvette becoming the future wife of Jeremiah was a done deal. While the Mitchell family didn't need to flatter anyone, they simply couldn't afford to offend Jeremiah's fiancée.

Tim suspected that Yelena must have done or said something she shouldn't have to bring trouble upon herself. Otherwise, Jeremiah's fiancée wouldn't have caused her any trouble. He was also doubtful about the incident where Yvette hit Yelena. Camden became uncomfortable, and even Yelena, sitting beside him, turned pale. Neither of them understood why Tim was acting this way. The Lynch family hadn't offended the Mitchell family.

The room fell silent again, with the clock on the wall ticking away, second by second.

Half an hour later, the door to the conference room swung open Jeremiah walked in, dressed in his military uniform and sturdy boots. His posture was straight, and his broad frame filled the doorway. His neatly falling hair and sharp eyebrows gave him a commanding look. His narrow, intense blue eyes held a hint of sharpness, while his chiseled features exuded an air of coldness. 10:23 Sat, Jan 4 D. Gu.

As soon as Jeremiah appeared, most people in the conference room stood up, including Yelena and Camden.

The crowd called out, "Mr. Chavez."

Others said, "Mr. Chavez."

Some greeted, "Mr. Chavez."

Jeremiah nodded slightly to the crowd, not even glancing at the father and daughter of the Lynch family.
