Chapter 3205 Thorneville Under Siege
Inside Thorneville, Alton was reporting the situation to Delmont. "Those b*stards from Gloam Wing are out there every day, stealing land, food, and valuables from the other villages. They're even starting to..." Alton's fists clenched tightly, his face contorted with rage. Delmont, sitting beside him, looked equally grave.
The Gloam Wing soldiers were wreaking havoc across the region. Everyone knew the danger of not standing together. It was only a matter of time before Gloam Wing came for Thorneville too.
"Delmont, the whole place is surrounded by Gloam Wing!" A Thorneville villager rushed in; panic etched on his face as he reported to Delmont.
Delmont's usually kind face twisted in anger, and he immediately marched toward the door.
Beyond the walls of Thorneville, thousands of Gloam Wing soldiers stood, setting up camp. They had planned a full assault, but to their surprise, Thorneville had become a fortress. The walls bristled with heavy weaponry, making even Kurtis' eyes twitch.
Since the last time Tigre Durham sent mercenaries to destroy Thorneville, Delmont had developed a serious condition: a deep-seated fear of insufficient firepower. So, when Thorneville was rebuilt, Delmont went on a spree, buying up every weapon he could get his hands on. If it was for sale, Thorneville had it.
Delmont climbed onto the wall and immediately saw the mass of Gloam Wing soldiers surrounding them.
"Give me the loudspeaker."
Alton quickly handed the loudspeaker to Delmont.
"Gentlemen, what brings you to the gates of Thorneville?"
Delmont's tone was polite despite the fact that anyone could see the Gloam Wing soldiers meant trouble.
Cyrus, standing at the front, smirked as he took a loudspeaker of his own. "Delmont Thorne, we at Gloam Wing have reason to believe you're secretly growing Night Vine. Come out and cooperate with our
ove.ne
inspection, or we'll have to take stronger measures."
He then eyed the heavy weaponry on the fortifications with no sign of worry. He knew Thorneville wouldn't dare fire on them. If they did, even without casualties, Gloam Wing would report directly to Gadel, who would send troops to flatten this village.
Delmont's eyes flashed with
concern. While Thorneville might not
enough to wipe out most Gloam- Wing soldiers with a single
fear these pesky flies and nea
yelin
command, the real threat lay in the
forces backing them-Montiria and
Gadel.
As Delmont stood silently atop the wall, Cyrus waved his hand. A man, bound and beaten, was dragged to the front.
"Delmont Thorne, you recognize this man, don't you?"
"Frankie!"
Delmont's eyes widened in fury as he saw the man, battered and bruised beyond recognition. He roared in anger, "You d*mn Gloam Wing b*stards, is this the only way you know how to fight?" Cyrus sneered at Delmont's outburst, a smug look on his face as he kicked Frankie Thorne in the knees, causing him, who had been standing tall, to drop to the ground.
Delmont trembled with anger, his lips quivering as he yelled, "Cyrus Hale, are you really pushing us to a fight to the death?"
"Chief Thorne, no need for such harsh words. As long as you cooperate with the inspection, nothing bad will happen," Cyrus said with a mocking smile, clapping his hands as he laughed at Delmont's fury. "Delmont, I... I'm fine. Let those Gloam Wing b*stards see that the sons of Thorneville aren't weaklings!" Frankie shouted, blood trickling from his mouth as he defiantly lifted his head to the sky. Delmont's eyes reddened, his hands gripping the wall so tightly they left imprints.
"Did I say you could speak?" Cyrus' expression darkened, his fake smile vanishing as he glared coldly at the kneeling Frankie.
