Chapter 17: Jayce
I was thrilled that Macey was allowing me to take her away from campus for a while, away from the hustle and bustle of student life and homework and stress. This nature preserve was one of my favorites in the state, and I couldn't believe she hadn't yet seen it.
"Garden of the Gods," Macey read aloud as we arrived. I parked the car, and we got out, linking hands as we walked in the direction of the stunningly enormous nature center. It felt good, holding her hand, being together. It was such a simple thing, really, but I cherished it.
"This is such a beautiful area," I told her. "Everyone should see it at least once."
"It's getting dark," Macey said softly as we approached the trail head. "Can we still come in the dark?"
I laughed, and Macey scowled. "Yes, we can still come in the dark," I told her. "They don't close until nine or ten. See, the pathway is lit up."
"Okay, okay," Macey said with pursed lips. "I was just checking. Are there wild animals out here?"
"Possibly. But you know I won't let you get hurt."
There was a bitter chill in the air from the last of winter that consumed us, but neither of us seemed to mind. It was often cold in Colorado, except for occasionally in the late summer. It was something that locals grew used to. "It's beautiful here," Macey murmured as we walked. "Where is everybody? This seems like the perfect time to go."
"Lucky for us, nobody else agrees." I kissed the top of her head, inhaling the comforting scent of her shampoo and the subtle hint of her fruity perfume. I didn't care that it was cold, because I couldn't be cold so long as I was around Macey. Not for a second.
As we walked the dimly lit path through the winding, massive stone carvings, Macey held onto me, her eyes wide and excited for the adventure that laid in front of us as the birds chirped and creatures skittered across the pathway. "It's beautiful." With a soft, dreamy sigh, she rested her head against my shoulder as I trapped her hand in mine, stopping briefly as we stared in awe at the sharp, jagged rocks lit by the moon in the dark sky. It was beautiful, something I never even realized could be so beautiful.
"It really is," I agreed, tightening my grip on her. "I'm sorry it's so cold."
"No need to apologize for the weather," Macey said, squirming in closer to me. "This is fantastic. Had I known how beautiful a nighttime hike could be, I would have done this ages ago. I feel like I've been missing out on this in all the time I've lived here."
"I think a lot of people get used to the natural wonders around here," I said. "When you live here for some time, the charm wears off, the beauty. But I don't know about those people, because this is a view I would never get tired of seeing, even if I saw it a million times a day."
"Jayce," Macey said softly, lifting her head to look at me. I had already been looking at her, thinking about her, talking about her. She looked like she wanted to say something, but then changed her mind mid-thought and focused back on the rocks, still molded to me like the missing piece of a puzzle.
"Look at the moon." She pulled her lip between her teeth to nibble on it, glancing up at the moon that basked the two of us in a gentle glow that seemed almost uncannily impeccable for the occasion. "It's perfect tonight."
"It is perfect," I agreed. "But it's perfect because we're here together."
"You sure know just what to say," Macey said with a soft sigh, and when she looked at me this time, I kissed her, gently at first, and then with more want, desire, passion. I slipped my tongue between her lips to taste her, to feel her body against my own, and Macey kissed me back, closing her eyes with a small, erotic moan that lit the fire inside me and expanded until flames felt like they licked my skin.
When we parted, panting and breathless, Macey was smiling, and that dreamy look she had in her eyes had only brightened significantly.
"Thank you for this," she said. "Thank you for bringing me to this magical place. I feel at one with nature."
"I'm sorry I couldn't have done it sooner. I would have loved to share this with you already."
"I didn't know you sooner," she said with a shrug. "But I know you now, right? We might have to make this a recurrence."
"I think I'm okay with that." I shivered a little, teasing Macey, and she grinned.
"Yeah? It's not too cold for you, is it?"
"Just wait until we go in the beginning of winter. One of these hikes you might not take me up on."
"And if I do?"
"If you do?" I turned to face her, holding Macey's hands in mine. "Then I guess for the rest of our lives we can look forward to this hike, year-round."
Macey let out a small air of breath between her puckered lips, and a small mist of condensation lulled between us. Then she kissed me with the kind of passion I'd been waiting for, the unbridled, intense need for me I wasn't sure she had. In the dark of the night, her hand slipped below my belt, taunting me as her tongue traced my lips. She pressed her body against mine, touching me, kissing me, until I was close to losing it.
"Wait," Macey said breathlessly, pulling away from me just a few inches. She put her finger to my lips with a sly smile. "Is there much privacy on this enormous preserve?" Without waiting for an answer, she took my hand and tugged me further down the trail, taking a detour so that we had stepped off the main path and into a private clearing behind an enormous boulder.
"I thought you wanted to enjoy the hike," I mumbled, but Macey ignored this, her hand tightening around mine as she gently tugged me down the trail until we were far enough away from prying eyes to make her comfortable. "What are we doing over here?"
Still grinning, she turned to face me, resting one warm hand on my chest as she leaned in to kiss me. It was darker down here, off the main trail, but darkness meant privacy, and that's all she seemed to be looking for. "Macey," I hissed. "What are we do "
"Shhh!" she hissed, putting a finger to her lips. I watched, wide-eyed and yet somehow insanely impressed, as Macey lowered herself onto a soft, grassy clearing, reaching one hand up to trace it over her chest, seducing me with her eyes and movements alone.
"We can't do this," I whispered, hoping that if all else failed, I could have at least pretended to be decent. "Not in public. That's terrible." Right.
"C'mon, golden boy," Macey said with a giggle that made my heart soar. "I thought you lived dangerously." Macey took a hold of the front of my shirt and pulled me to her once again to kiss my neck. Her hand lingered near my cock, and it was clear that not a moment of uncertainty had really popped up.
"You'll be the death of me," I growled, dropping to my knees in front of Macey. "I can't guarantee this will be very comfortable, though."
"Life in general isn't comfortable, but we still live it." Macey reached for me, lying back until she was on her back, one hand working at the button of my jeans as I slipped my hand under her shirt to squeeze one nipple, massaging it between my fingers. Macey moaned and threw her head back as I kissed her neck, sucking on it, tasting her, every inch of her. Then I reached for the buttons on her jeans, shimmying them off her waist. Macey kicked off her black, lacy panties and helped me yank off my boxers. Without waiting for her to ask, I reached into the back pocket of my jeans, grabbing an old condom from my wallet. When Macey saw it, she punched me in the arm playfully, giggling. "Did you get a lot of action before me?"

"None, actually, it's about a hundred years old." I ripped the foil with my teeth and rolled it on. Macey wrapped her legs around my waist, pulling me to her. Beneath us, the subtle softness of the grass lulled us into an erotic paradise. I entered her, filling her with me completely, and Macey gasped as that beautiful red tint rose to her cheeks and breasts. She closed her eyes and tightened her body around mine, slowly rocking her hips to the rhythm of a beat we'd created. A soft moan rose from my chest as my pace quickened. Macey gasped again, louder this time, her voice losing control in a small but somehow still shrill scream of pleasure. I leaned down and took her lip between mine, biting it. She squealed again as I secured her legs around my waist and sat up until she was riding me, hips moving so perfectly against my own that I didn't know how much longer I would last.
"I knew this would be fun," she whispered, leaning down to kiss me as her body tightened around mine, those beautiful hips rocking, molding securely into me. Fuck, she had me.
We came at the same time, breathless and flushed but exhilarated at the same time. Knowing that we didn't have time to dwell, but laughing as we dressed, we slipped back out onto the main path, still pulling ourselves together just as a small group of tourists passed, oblivious to what they'd missed. Macey, still holding my hand, pulled me, running, back up the path and towards the car, giggling all the while.
"That was close," she said with an elated grin as she slowed, turning to face me. The wind whipped her hair around her face, and her cheeks were still hot from only minutes ago. She was stunning. She was fall-on-the-floor-and-beg-for-mercy stunning.
"My God." I raised my hand to her face to touch her, no less mesmerized by this being in front of me than I had been since the moment we'd met. "You're perfect."
She laughed at this, throwing her head back just enough to expose her curvy, freckle-dotted neck. When she lowered it again, I caught her cheeks between my hands and kissed her, kissed her until once again, we were breathless and hungry for each other.
"I'm not perfect," Macey whispered as she rested her forehead against mine. "I'm not even close to perfect. I hope perfect is not what you were expecting."
"You're perfect for me," I said, and she only smiled at this as she held my hands in hers and we walked back to the car, led by the brilliant light of the moon and stars above.
"It's late, but some places should still be open," I said, wrapping my arm around her waist. "How about that date?"
"A real date?" she mused. "A real date with my real boyfriend?"
"A real date with my real girlfriend."
"Jayce, that sounds lovely."
