Echoes of a Forsaken Heart (Natalia and Hamilton)

Chapter 241

Hamilton paused for a moment, then he remembered mentioning his visit to the herbalist when they had parted ways.

He swallowed hard, his voice low as he said, "Okay."

Then, he chuckled, "But honestly, whether we can have kids or not, it doesn't matter to me."

Natalia, however, let out a laugh, "But I want children."

Her voice couldn't hide the disappointment.

"Today, while talking to my mom in the ICU, I wanted to tell her I hoped she'd see me get married and have kids. But as I was about to say it, I realized I might not be able to have children, so I only mentioned getting married." Her eyes blinked, fighting back the tears, "Hamilton, I want to be a mom too."

Hamilton felt a tightness in his chest.

It took him a while before he responded in a hoarse voice.

"Alright, I'll make sure we find a doctor who can help."

Natalia just nodded, remaining silent.

The room fell into quietness.

Neither of them knew when they fell asleep.

Until the next morning, Natalia felt something pressing against her. Having spent so much time together, she knew exactly what it was. Just as she was about to move away, Hamilton suddenly kissed her.

Natalia was startled and pushed him away.

"Hamilton, we haven't even brushed our teeth, and you're kissing me?"

Hamilton laughed, "Not brushing our teeth is nothing. I've kissed other parts of you."

Natalia was confused, "Kissed me where?"

Hamilton didn't answer, just kept gazing at Natalia with desire in his eyes.

Talking about such things early in the morning was indeed not suitable.

His desire was already evident, and now, recalling the image of her legs draped over his shoulders from that night only intensified it.

His Adam's apple bobbed twice.

Then, leaning close to her ear, he whispered, "Shall we reminisce?"

Natalia instinctively knew it wasn't anything good and quickly got out of bed.

"Hamilton, stop it, the doctor will be here to check on us soon."

Hamilton smiled regretfully, "It's okay, there will be other opportunities."

Besides, he knew he couldn't really do anything right now.

So, it was best to let it go, to avoid feeling frustrated later.

Natalia was discharged that day and went straight to the office.

Meanwhile, Hamilton had handed over all responsibilities to Alden.

She realized she couldn't always be with Hamilton.

On her own, she never thought about such things.

But these past few days with Hamilton, that rascal, she started to feel the urge too.

Especially after he brought it up this morning, she found herself recalling some very vivid scenes.

A hotel, a bathroom, a washbasin.

The images were blurry but intensely stirring. She wasn't sure if those events had actually happened or if it was just her imagination from not having experienced it for so long. After lunch, Natalia hurried to the office.

Upon arriving, she went straight to the meeting room.

The land in NorthSuburb that Hamilton had transferred to her name was finally hers.

Natalia didn't refuse it anymore.

But she didn't take advantage of Hamilton either. After selling the land to Ron Group at market price, she transferred the money back to Hamilton.

Seeing the transaction on his phone, Hamilton felt conflicted.

Alden, who was nearby, couldn't help but ask, "What's up?"

Hamilton put away his phone, "The gift I sent out was returned by your sister-in-law."

Alden was taken aback, then his eyes lit up, "Natalia?"

Hamilton glanced at him, "From now on, call her your sister-in-law."

"Bro, are you guys okay now?"

Hamilton, "Still pursuing."

Alden was curious, "So what did you send her?"

Hamilton, "A piece of land."

Alden was puzzled.

After transferring the money to Hamilton, Natalia entered the meeting room.

The development of the North Suburb land was urgent, and she had a bet agreement with Mason that was six months long, which was already halfway through. With time pressing and the workload heavy, Natalia didn't dare waste a single second.

When one meeting ended, it was already noon.

As Natalia left the meeting room, she noticed the secretaries sneaking glances at her.

She paused, turning to Tess, "Is there something wrong with me today?"

Tess chuckled secretly, "Boss, you'll see when you get to your office."

Natalia gave her a look and pushed open the door to her office.

She was immediately taken aback.

On the coffee table in her office was a large bouquet of forget-me-nots.

Tess couldn't help but laugh behind her.

"Boss, who is this? Sending such a huge bouquet, are they pursuing you?"

Natalia's eyes sparkled with amusement, "You could say that."

Tess immediately got excited.

"Who is it? Are they handsome? Do I know them?"

Natalia's gaze flickered, "You might say you know them. I'll introduce you some day."

Tess eagerly nodded.

"Damn, Boss, I'm so happy for you. You've finally found someone."

Natalia just smiled, walking over to the bouquet and picking up the card attached.

"Ms. Jenkins, dinner tonight? I'll pick you up."

Natalia's mood was blooming all day.

On the other hand, Patrick was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan.

Lucinda hadn't come home all night, which wasn't initially alarming.

She often stayed out late with her high-society friends and wouldn't come home.

But she would always send him a message, which she hadn't done last night, and her phone was off.

After making several calls in the morning without finding Lucinda, Patrick was about to call the police when a call came in.

"Mr. Schafer, got a minute? Let's meet and talk."

Patrick was taken aback, "Who are you?"

The caller chuckled, "Someone who knows where your wife is and the source of your company's recent troubles."

Patrick was about to dismiss the call, but the mention of these two issues darkened his expression instantly.

The inner workings of his company were a closely guarded secret, known by very few. And as for Lucinda's disappearance, he was the sole keeper of that mystery.

Patrick harbored suspicions about the real reason behind the sudden invitation, but something about the way the message was phrased got to him. He couldn't resist; he had to show up.

Yet, the moment he arrived at the agreed-upon location, he froze, utterly taken aback.

"Why on earth is it you?"
