Caught In His Embrace: A Second Chance Romance

Chapter 141

Chapter 141

Josiah was taken aback, his face draining of color. Did she just tell him to leave? He realized she must have overheard what Yvette said to him.

carlier.

“Sienna,” Josial said, rubbing his forehead and looking at her nervously. “You’ve got it all wrong. I don’t know why Yvette would say that…”

Sienna let out a cold, soft bugh. “You don’t know! You’ve used me once already because of her. What? Feeling good about tricking me and wanting to do it again“”

“Sienna Josiah tried to explain.

“Listen up; it’s not happening” Sienna said, cuiting him off with a sneer. “It’s been four years. Do you think I’m still that easy to fool? You can’t trick me anymore.”

“Sienna, I really didn’t, Josiah explained, feeling helpless, “What can I do to make you believe me?”

“Fine. Sienna pointed at his hand on her arm. “Let go of me right now, and don’t ever come near me again. Then I’ll believe you”

Josiah was stunned and then defeated by her determined gaze. He sighed, slowly letting go, “Alright.”

Without wasting a second. Sienna turned and opened the car door.

Josiah watched her walk away, feeling a suffocating sense of despair. He suddenly realized that Sienna really didn’t like him. Did she even hate him? Without hesitation, he called out to her, “Sienna”

She stopped but didn’t turn around

“You…” Josiah’s voice wavered, his heart heavy. Tell me, do you dislike me? Hate me?”

At his words, Sienna’s back stiffened. After a moment of silence, she slowly turned to face him. She spoke, each word deliberate, “Yes, I dislike you, and I hate you

Taking a deep breath, she continued, “I wouldn’t have said this if you hadn’t asked. You’re a powerful Flynn, and with just one word, you could have sent me packing from River City, I spent four years abroad, away from everything I knew”

Seeing Josiah’s face pale, she added with a hint of mockery, “Surprised? Did you really think I’d be grateful to someone who drove me away and then ignored me for years?”

“1…” Josiah stammered, unable to meet her gaze. That’s because…”

Sienna said with a nonchalant smirk. “I know, I’m the guilty

guilty one. You don’t need to say it again: I’ve heard it all before”

She glanced down, her eyelashes trembling slightly. “But you did make it up to me…” It was a fortune she could never have earned in a lifetime.

For the sake of the money, she added, “Let’s just stay out of each other’s way from now on.”

With that, she turned, got into the car, and closed the door. “Please go,” she said to the driver.

“Sure thing, the driver replied.

The car pulled away, leaving Josiah standing there, rooted to the spot… His heart felt hollow, as if a plece had been ripped out. Four years ago, he could never have imagined this day. For the first time, he felt regret over his past actions.

Josiah chuckled bitterly, “Josiah, even you’ve come

to this

The tour kicked off two days later, starting from home and heading straight to Harbwood. Sienna was with the dance troupe, ready to perform. The Lightning Dance Troupe had toured plenty before, so they had their routine down pat. But this time, they

got hit with a surprise weather twist,

On their arrival in Harwood, the weather was warms, around eighty degrees. Yet, by night, it turned icy cold, with temperatures dropping drastically. A typhoon rolled in, bringing fierce winds and a downpour.

Being a coastal city, Harbwood felt the full force of the typhoon. The city authorities put out a warning to stay inside unless absolutely necessary. which mean the show had to be put on hold.

stuck in their hotel. Honestly, even without the warning, putting on a performance in that weather would’ve been out

The hotel they were at

at was a brand–new resort. It was a lovely place, but a bit out of the way. The good news was, they had everything they needed stocked up, so everyone was comfortable despite being cooped up.

In the evening, the dance troupe gathered at the restaurant for dinner. Rosie and Sienna sat together, having bonded over the past few days. They found they had a lot in common and had become close friends.

Sienna handed her plate with the hamburger to Rosie. “Could you finish this for me. Rosic!”

“Sure, thanks,” Rosie said.

“No worries, Sienna replied with a smile. 1 need to watch my figure, so I can’t eat it. You’re the one I should be thanking

Rosie giggled and handed her some shrimp. “You should eat these instead. They’re high in protein and won’t add any pounds”

“Okay.” Sienna smiled.

Nina rolled her eyes sarcastically. “I don’t know why we’re having such bad luck lately. Maybe someone’s bringing us down.”

“What?” Rosie frowned and looked at her. “Who are you talking about!”

“Oh, come on.” Nina snapped. “Did I say it was you? Why are you so quick to jump to conclusions? Rosie, you’ve been really supportive of her lately, even though she’s not a star yet. Are you trying too hard to be a yes–person!”

“Who are you calling a yes–person?” Rosie stood up, glaring at Nina angrily.

“Tm talking about you. Didn’t you hear me?” Nina, clearly annoyed and looking for a fight, pointed at Rosie. “Yes–person, yes–person, yes–person.” “You… Rosie was furious. She didn’t expect Nina to be so bold. “Apologize.”

Nina smirked. “I thought you were going to show me what you’ve got. And that’s it? Apologize? No way,

“Fine” Rosie said, fuming. T’ll tell Ms. Scott.”

“Nina” a coworker quickly grabbed her arm. “Just apologize.

“Yeah, Ms. Scott hates it when we fight, another coworker added.

If Rosie went to Ms. Scott, both of them would get in trouble, no matter who was right or wrong.

Nina muttered and sneered, ‘Ms. Scott? When lus she ever been fair?”

“Hey, Nina, watch what you say, someone warned.

“Alright, since you’re so tough, come with me to see Ms. Scott. Rosie laughed and grabbed Nina’s arm. “Let’s go.”

“Nina, just spit it out and apologize, someone said.

“Seriously, Ms. Scott’s already got a bad impression of you from that last mess,” another chimed in.

“Come on, do it” they urged.

Nina rolled her eyes but knew she was outnumbered. She grumbled, “Fine, I’m sorry,”

“That’s not enough,” Rosie said, p

pointing at Sienna. “You need to apologize to her too. Show some real sincerity.”

Nina huffed, grabbed a cup of orange juice from the drinks area, and slammed it down in front of Sienna. “I was out of line. Sorry, Sienna.”

Sienna didn’t really like Nina, but she didn’t want to make things worse. She took the juice and said, “It’s cool.”

Nina stared at her, pressing. Drink it. That’s how you’ll show you forgive me,”
