Chapter 118
Chapter 118
The waiter came over, listing the dishes as he placed them on the table.
Sienna picked up her fork, eager to dig in.
“Wait a minute.” Just as she was about to take a bite, Cedric stopped her.
He smiled, holding up his phone. “Let me take a picture.
He opened the camera app and snapped a few quick shots. “All done. Now you can cat”
At Mousea House, Yosef opened his phone and snickered. “Heywell…”
“What’s so funny?” Josiah asked, looking up from his seat.
“Forget it.” Yosef’s smile faded as he spoke. “You really don’t need to know. It’s better if you don’t, to avoid making things
worse
Josiah shot him an eye roll, stood up, and headed for the bathroom.
Once inside, he pulled out his phone, opened Instagram, and immediately spotted Cedric’s latest post.
Cedric: [Dinner.] The post was simple, accompanied by a picture of the meal. There were no people visible in the image, but you could make out two figures in the background.
The tall one was definitely Cedric, and the smaller one… It didn’t take much to figure out who that was. And, to top it off, Sienna had liked the post
Josiah quickly turned away from the screen, pressing his phone off and shoving it into his pocket. ‘Why am I making myself miserable over something like this” he wondered.
Wait… why am I even upset? Hopefully, I will get over it soon, he thought. He tried to push the feeling aside, convincing himself it would pass soon enough.
The situation with Thomas’s mom trying to help Sienna had, as expected, not gone
well.
Thomas had passed on the message to Cedric. “Sorry, I couldn’t get it done. My mom tried to help, but Ms. Scott wouldn’t budge
It wasn’t Brenda’s fault. She had already gone out of her way to help her friend, but Sienna had made a mistake, and there was no way around it
“I understand, Thomas. Thanks, Cedric said, trying to hide his disappointment.
If he was feeling this let down, it was easy to imagine how Sienna was feeling. But in reality, Sienna was doing far better than he expected.
She was upset after everything happened, of course. But what was the point of staying sad? Things had already happened. There was no use dwelling on it
In her four years at Fliraty, she’d been through far worse. Being stuck in sorrow was never her style.
Even if she regretted it, even if she felt frustrated, life still went on.
“Sienna, I’m sorry,” Cedric said, furrowing his brow, feeling guilty for not being able to help her.
“Don’t say that,” Sienna replied with a reassuring smile. “I made this mistake myself. You don’t need to apologize. As adults,

we have to take responsibility for our own actions.”
She couldn’t blame anyone but herself for this.
“Then… what are your plans?” Cedric asked, clearly still concerned.
“What’s next?” Sienna responded honestly, “Right now, I’m working with a production team. If the opportunity comes up, I’ll see if I can find something better.”
Derek already knew about her being kicked out of the dance so, He wasn’t exactly happy about it, but when he found out, he reached out to Sienna with an offer.
“Since you’re not at the dance studio anymore and don’t have other plans right now, have you thought about pursuing a career in entertainment?” he said.
“Derek… Sienna hesitated. Honestly, it wasn’t something she had ever considered before.
The only reason she had taken on the acting job was to earn some extra money. But now, with the alimony from Josiah, she didn’t need to work for survival.
Derek urged her to think about it. “You should give it a shot. With your looks, being a backup dancer seems like such a waste. Even Mr. Carter said that if you’re willing, you could really go places.”
Some people were lucky enough to live their lives without worrying about money, just based on their looks. And, well, God had already given Sienna that advantage.
Derek, please, just give me some time to think about it,” said Sienna.
“Alright,” Derek said, not pushing her. “But think it through. The current role as a backup dancer won’t last much longer. What will you do after this job is finished?”
According to Derek, Charles was preparing a new film and was looking to cast new talent. He had already been impressed with Sienna, which made this a golden opportunity.
But opportunities don’t wait for anyone. After giving it some thought, Sienna decided to give it a try.
She knew the entertainment industry was a rough place. She understood that the path one took was shaped by one’s own decisions. How she navigated this new road would depend entirely on her.
Besides, all she had right now was an opportunity whether it would work out was still uncertain.
After confirming her decision with Derek, he was thrilled. “Great, I’m really glad you made the right choice.”
He gave
her a friendly pat on the shoulder. Trust me. You won’t regret this. Sienna, you’re going to be a huge success.”
Of course, Derek didn’t have the final say in this matter. He was Charles’assistant director, and when it came to casting, the final decision was Charles.
But Derek was in a good position to speak up for Sienna in front of Charles. After the rehearsal, Derek took her to meet Charles.
“Mr. Carter, Sienna is here,” said Derek.
“Oh.” Charles looked up as soon as he heard, waving her over. “You’re here?”
“Yes, Mr. Carter,” Sienna said, standing still and nervous.
“Have you thought it over?” Charles seemed genuinely satisfied with her. In this industry, looks were still the most important thing.

“Ready to try your hamHin the industry?” he asked,
Td be honored if you would help me, Mr. Carter.” Sienna nodded.
“Of course,” Charles said with a smile, noticing her anxiety. “Relis. I’ve got some background on you. Don’t worry. We all
start as newcomers,”
He glanced at Derek. “Give her the first few episodes of the scrip
“Sure thing, Mr. Carter.” Derek nodded.
Charles pointed at Sienna. “I may have picked you for your look but let me tell you. That’s not enough. Take the script home, study it, and write me a character analysis. Write how you understand the character. Make it deep, alright?”
“Understood, Mr. Carter. Sienna nodded.
A short while later, Derek handed her the script. He quietly reminded her, “Read carefully, and write it well
“Oh, and one more thing. Charles added. “I’m still not sure which role suits you best. For now, look at all the female roles, lead, supporting, even minor, and write your interpretation of each one.”
“Got it. Mr. Carter. Sienna accepted the script, feeling a bit overwhelmed. This was a lot more complicated than she expected. She honestly preferred dancing over acting.
“Howard?” At the hospital, Yvette pushed open the door to the room.
Hervey Davis, Howard’s assistant, was standing by the bed, talking to him. As soon as Yvette entered, he stopped speaking
Hervey turned to her and smiled. “Hello, Ms. Young
“Hi” Yvette, feeling a little suspicious, couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. ‘Have they been talking about something I am not supposed to know?‘ she wondered.
“Howard,” Hervey said with a smile. Tll take my leave now.”
Howard nodded.
“Goodbye, Ms. Young.” Hervey smiled.
“Take care,” said Yvette.

After Hervey left, Yvette pulled a chair over to the bed and sat down, holding Howard’s hand and gently placing it against her cheek.
