Chapter 103
“What’s going on?” Sienna asked, confused. “Is something wrong
Cedric looked at her, hesitated for a moment, then spoke. “I know this might be a bit sudden, but I have to ask… why are you so afraid of Josiah?”
He swallowed hard, his voice strained. “Aren’t you two, uh, getting back together?”
“Back together?” Sienna’s eyes widened in surprise. “Why would you say that?”
Cedric fell silent for a moment before answering honestly. “That’s what Josiah told me.”
Before Sienna could respond, he awkwardly added, “So… did you two have a fight? It’s normal for couples to argue, right?”
“No,” Sienna cut him off sharply.
Her lips pressed together tightly, and her eyes reddened slightly No, it wasn’t a fight. There’s no getting back together between me and him.”
Cedric stared at her, stunned. “What’s going on?‘ he wondered.
“You two didn’t make up? Then…” He trailed off, realizing something.
He could see the hostility in Josiah’s eyes wasn’t just some misunderstanding. It was real. Josiah was clearly seeing him as a rival.
Looking at Sienna’s reaction, Cedric had a guess. “Could it be… Josiah is just pushing for this, and you don’t feel the same?” Sienna froze for a moment. She hadn’t expected Cedric to figure it out so easily.
She didn’t answer, but the look on her face made everything clear.
“I was right, wasn’t I?” Cedric’s voice darkened, and he slammed his hand on the steering wheel. “This is too much. Josiah is going way too far.”
When it came to matters of the heart, it was supposed to be about mutual feelings, not some kind of forceful demand. “But,” Cedric was confused. “Why are you running away? Can’t you just talk to him about it?”
“Talk to him?” Sienna let out a dry laugh, the bitterness of past experiences rising to the surface.
“This isn’t the first time something like this has happened,” she said.
“What?” Cedric was taken aback. “You mean, you and Josiah…”
Sienna closed her eyes and nodded slightly. She had never spoken openly about it, but now, it all came rushing back.
Her first marriage had been a trap set by the Flynn family. At twenty, she didn’t understand it, but after four years, how could she still not see it?
Was she angry? Of course, she was. She had been caught in a manipulative marriage and subjected to so much injustice.
But the Flynn family had done her a huge favor. She was someone even her own father had rejected. After Fiona passed away, she went to her father, begging him to take her in.
She was just fificen, still a child, and she needed someone to care for her.

But her father refused:
In the end, it was Miranda who took her hand and led her into the Flynn family, where she was taken care of, given food, shelter, and the opportunity to continue her education and pursue
dance.
If it hadn’t been for the Flynn family, a fifteen–year–old orphan ke her could not have survived. That kindness was something she could never forget, no matter what huppencil.
So, when the people who had helped her hurt her, she had no choice but to swallow her pain and move on.
Sienna snapped back to the present, a cold smile on her lips, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. “Howard woke up.
I… I…
She was too emotional to finish her sentence.
“I understand.” Cedric’s voice softened, his tone gentle. “You dont need to say more. I get it.”
and
At this point, everything was clear. He had gone to the hospital today to visit Howard, who had just woken up, and there he had run into Sienna, who had been hurriedly leaving.
The Flynn family is really too much… he wondered. Even Cedric, with his good–natured disposition, couldn’t help but curse under his breath. “Using their kindness to control you, without even considering your feelings?”
Was one time not enough? Now they were doing it again? No wonder Josiah, who had originally been set on divorcing her. suddenly changed his mind.
Sienna froze, staring at him. He wasn’t the first person to say this to her. The first was Hannah.
Her eyes filled with moisture, and she bit her lip. “Thank you.”
They had only met a few times, yet he was the one who could say something like that on her behalf. She felt deeply grateful, “What are you thanking me for?” Cedric shook his head lightly, haven’t done anything for you?
“No need to.” Sienna smiled faintly. “I don’t have any friends in Jiacrity. Just the fact that you’re willing to listen to me, and speak up for me, is enough for me to be grateful.”
She leaned forward, grabbed her bag, and got out of the car. Thanks for giving me a ride. I’ll get going now.”
“Okay,” Cedric followed her out of the car and watched her walk away, getting farther and farther.
Suddenly, he jogged after her. “Sienna,”
“Huh?” Sienna stopped and turned around, looking at him in confusion. “What’s up? Is something wrong?” “Yes.” Cedric nodded, his voice a bit urgent.
“Do you have a way to get rid of Josiah? From what I know, he’s not the kind of guy who gives up easily,” he asked. Sienna’s gaze darkened. Just like Cedric had said, once Josiah made up his mind, there was no turning him around. But she could do nothing. Sienna shook her head and said, “As long as I don’t give in, he can’t really do anything to me.” “But… Cedric swallowed hard, gathering his courage as he looked at her.
He spoke in a low voice. “I actually have an idea.”
“Huh?” Sienna looked at him, surprised. “What idea?”

Her clear eyes were lilled with suspicion. Cedric’s heart skipped beat as he met her gaze. He took a deep breath. “The idea is… we get together.”
Sienna was stunned. What kind of solution is this? How could I drag him into this just to escape Josiah she wondered
“You…” Seeing that Sienna was about to get angry, Cedric hurriedly said, “Please, don’t misunderstand. I’m not trying to take advantage of you. We wouldn’t actually be together, but we’d make Josiah think we are”
“If you’re with someone else, he shouldn’t be able to keep pressuring you, right?” he added.
Sienna fell silent, contemplating. It made sense,
And she remembered what Miranda had said. Miranda wouldn force her into anything Sienna didn’t want, and she only hoped Sienna would find someone she truly cared about.
So, if she and Cedric pretended to be together, with Miranda’s support, then Josiah would have no reason to keep pushing
her
This idea flashed in her mind for just a moment.
“No, no, it’s not possible. Sienna shook her head repeatedly, rejecting the suggestion.
What am I thinking? I know Cedric has feelings for me. How could I even consider going along with this idea? That would be no different from playing with his feelings, she wondered.
“Why not?” Cedric’s gaze darkened. “Even if it’s just pretend, you won’t do it?”
“Cedric… Sienna didn’t know how to explain herself. “Even though we haven’t known each other for long, I consider you a friend.”
Just like when she met Hannah back in Fliraty, she knew Cedric was a good person. She couldn’t use him or hurt him like that.
“You’re a good person…” she began.
“Are you refusing me?” Cedric smiled bitterly.
“Oh, well…” Sienna shook her head, her eyes clear.
She began. “If you were a girl, I’d happily be your best friend. But right now, I can only tell you that I’m just an ordinary person. Your life is just beginning, and you’re going to meet the best girl out there.”
