Chapter 101
Chapter 101
The elevator reached the top floor, and the receptionist left after escorting Sienna. She made her way to the CEO’s office on her own
When she entered, Josiah was still busy.
“You’re here?” Josiah glanced up at her and said, “Let me finish up quickly. Have a seat for now.”
“Alright, she nodded.
Sienna sat down on the sofa and lowered her head, noticing a brwn paper package on the coffee table. It looked familiar.
Wait a second… isn’t this just like the one Yvette was holding earlier? Could it be the same thing inside? she wondered.
“Figured it out by the smell?” Josiah’s voice broke her train of thought. She hadn’t even realized he had finished working and walked over.
He gestured toward the brown package. “Go ahead, and open it.
““Huh?” Sienna furrowed her brows slightly, not making a move.
“Hey,” Josiah smirked, clearly expecting this moment. “What’s wrong? Afraid I’d poison you or something? Relax It’s something you like.”
As soon as the package was opened, a sweet and tangy aroma waffed out. It was hawthorn candy.
Sienna’s eyes flickered. Just as she thought, it was the same as the one Yvette had.
“Don’t just stare at it” Josiah nudged the package closer to her. “Try some. I remember you used to like it, didn’t you?”
‘Have I ever eaten hawthorn candy in front of him?‘ she wonderel
“Yeah, Josiah mused for a second. “Back then, you were eating hawthorn strip. This is made from the same fruit, so I figured you’d like it too. I got it just for you”
Just for me?’ she wondered. Sienna silently repeated the words to herself. “No, more likely, he bought it just for Yvette
If she hadn’t bumped into Yvette earlier, maybe Sienna would’ve believed him. After all, Josiah genuinely didn’t like sour- sweet snacks like this,
He really cared about Yvette, so much so that even small treats like this weren’t overlooked.
“Why aren’t you eating” Josiah held the package in front of her for what felt like forever, but she still didn’t move.
“Later.” Sienna took the package and set it on the coffee table. Her fingertips trembled ever so slightly. “So, why did you call me here in such a rush? Is there something important?”
“Right, of course.” Josiah raised a hand and tapped his forehead lightly. “That’s the main thing…”
He stood up and added, “Come on. I’ll take you somewhere.”
He turned to the wardrobe, grabbed his suit jacket, and picked up his car keys. “I’ll explain the details on the way. Oh, and…
He gestured toward the brown package on the table. “Don’t forget to bring it. You can snack on it during the ride.
“Alright, sure,” she nodded.

Chapter 101
They took the private elevator to the break room and headed straight to the underground parking lot. Once inside the car. Josiah glanced at Sienna through the rearview mirror, hesitating before speaking
“Sienna,” he finally began, his tone careful. I’m taking you to the ospital. Howard has woken up. I’ll take you to see him”
Sienna put on a surprised expression, perfectly playing the part ut deep down, it wasn’t entirely an act. Even hearing the news a second time, her eyes couldn’t help but redden.
“Howard… woke up?” she exclaimed.
“Yes” Josiah tightened his grip on the steering wheel. “He’s been awake for a few days now, Since you weren’t in Jeiacrity. I didn’t notify you right away!
“That’s… that’s great!” Sienna’s fingers dug into her palms, her joy genuine.
Howard, the gentle man who treated me like his own sister, doesn’t have to spend his life lying unconscious anymore…. Finally, God has shown some mercy, she thought.
“Wonderful.” She clenched her hands tightly, her excitement causing a faint tremor.
Josiah noticed her reaction and spoke softly. “Don’t get too anxious. Howard… doesn’t know about the child yet. None of us have told him.”
The truth was, they had kept this from Howard to avoid shocking him right after he woke up. Back when he fell unconscious, he hadn’t known about Yvette’s pregnancy.
So, they decided to keep everything under wraps until Howard’s condition improved. Then, when the time was right, they
would tell him.
Sienna wasn’t naive. She understood the situation perfectly. No like what Josiah thought, she wasn’t afraid of Howard finding.
put
She had always believed there was a deeper, hidden truth behind Yvette’s so–called fall.
And the key to that truth lay with Howard.
“Now that Howard’s awake, does this mean the truth is finally about to come to light? Sienna wondered.
The thought made her tremble even more. Unlike Josiah, Howard was the kindest and most reasonable member of the Flynn family. If anyone would get to the bottom of what really happened, it was him.
Josiah couldn’t tell what was going through her mind. All he saw was her trembling so much that he frowned. “Don’t be scared,” he said, his tone almost comforting. “Even if Howard finds out, you’ve already been punished for it.”
He was referring to her four years of exile as an international student.
Sienna scoffed internally, her expression calm and clear–eyed. “Don’t worry. I’m not scared.”
“What’s there to fear? Four years have passed, and I am not the same girl who has only known how to cry when things go wrong, she wondered
Still, without any evidence, she had remained powerless to defend herself even after all these years. But now, Howard was awake.
God must be watching. One day, my innocence will be proven, she thought.
“We’re here,” Josiah announced as the car came to a stop outside the hospital. He stepped out first and walked around to open Sienna’s door for her.
Chapter 101
But Sienna had already gotten out on her own. She was almost impatient as she urged him “Let’s go
Josiah blinked, taken aback for a moment. “Why does it feel like Sienna isn’t afraid at all? If anything, she seems eager to see Howard, he wondered.
Inside the hospital room, Josiah and Sienna stood side by side.
“Howard, look who’s here to see you,” Josiali said, stepping back to let Sienna take the lead.
Sienna took two steps forward. She hadn’t even spoken yet when tears started streaming down her face. Her voice trembled as she called out, “Howard…
The words came out broken, her sobs overtaking her.
Howard couldn’t speak, but he managed to curve his lips into a faint smile. It wasn’t much, but he was definitely smiling at her. His hand, resting at his side, twitched slightly as though trying to lift it.
“Howard” Josiah asked, confused. “Do you need something?”
“No, no,” Sienna interrupted, shaking her head through her tears. She sniffled, then sank to her knees by the bed.
Choking on her sobs, she said, “Howard, forgive me for this… Since you can’t move right now, let me help you
Howard blinked in agreement.
Sienna gently took his hand and placed it on her head. “Like this, Howard? Is this what you meant?”
Howard blinked again, his eyes glistening faintly with emotion.
In the past, Sienna had been just a teenager, undeniably still a child in Howard’s eyes.
Whenever she played with him, he would pat her on the head and tell her, “Eat well and study hard. If you’re short on pocket money, just let me know.”
“Howard… Memories of those times overwhelmed her, and Sienna began crying uncontrollably.
She stayed in that position, not moving. “You’ll get better,” she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. “You’ll definitely get
better.”
He would return to being the warm, gentle, and dignified son of the Flynn family, the one who carried the grace and brilliance forever.
