Once Colby was asleep, Nathan carefully gathered strands of Colby’s and Destinee’s hair from the pillow and placed them in a small sealed bag.

He knew Lucinda well enough to recognize the woman in the hospital was an impostor.

Nathan pushed open the door and found the woman having breakfast.

I’m feeling better now.

And I miss Destinee and Colby.

Can you take me to see our children?”

She placed a hand over her heart, looking pained.

“I feel so empty without them.

It’s been many days since they saw me.

I’m sure they miss me too.”

She frequently mentioned Colby and Destinee.

Nathan remained silent, sensing this was part of Cory’s scheme.

The DNA test and confirming the identity of this woman would require some time.

“I’ll speak with the doctor for a follow-up consultation.

Once they confirm you’re okay, you can leave,” Nathan replied calmly.

“Great!” She pushed the breakfast away in distaste and continued to act needy.

Can you have someone bring it for me, honey?”

“Alright, you can have whatever you want to eat.”

Half an hour later, the doctor arrived to conduct a follow-up examination on the impostor posing as Lucinda.
