Her tone was a mix of frustration and concern as she gestured toward the grimy walls and the dim, unpleasant environment.

It was clear that she couldn't understand why someone as powerful as Silas would willingly choose to stay in such terrible conditions.

"This isn't right," she continued, shaking her head. "You deserve better than this, Silas. How can you accept living like this?"

Silas shook his head, his voice growing softer but no less resolute. "I'm staying because I trust Lorelei, She's the only one who has been helping me through this mess."

Lena's face crumpled as though his words had physically struck her.

Tears welled in her eyes. "You trust her? Silas, how can you be so blind? She's manipulating you. She's the reason you're hiding in the first place!

I stepped closer, placing a hand on Silas's arm. "Silas," I said gently, "Lena has already exposed this hiding place. It's no longer safe for you here, We need to find somewhere else for you to stay." He hesitated, his brow furrowing as he considered my words.

"She's lying to you!" Lena cried, her voice breaking. "Why do you only listen to her? Why can't you trust me for once?"

Silas sighed, exhaustion evident in his expression. "Lena, you're making this harder than it needs to be. I'm not leaving with you. My place is here with

Lorelei."

"No!" Lena's voice cracked as she stepped closer to him. "If you won't come with me, then I'll tell everyone where you're hiding. Let them come for you, Silas. Let them see what's become of their Alpha!" Her words sent a chill through me. I couldn't let her ruin everything.

Acting quickly, I grabbed Lena by the waist, pinning her arms to her sides. "Run, Silas!" I shouted. "Get out of here before she does something foolish!"

Silas hesitated for only a moment before nodding. He turned and fled, disappearing into the night as Lena struggled against my grip.

"Let me go!" Lena screamed, thrashing wildly.

I held her firmly, refusing to release her until I was sure Silas had a safe head start.

When I finally let her go, she stumbled forward, her eyes blazing with fury.

"You'll regret this, Lorelei," she spat, before running after Silas.

I stood there for a moment, catching my breath and allowing a small, satisfied smile to cross my face. Everything was falling into place.

Lena was completely overwhelmed by her emotions, making it impossible for her to concentrate on finding out who was really behind the photos. Her mind was consumed with everything that had just happened.

Instead of focusing on uncovering the truth and continuing her investigation, her thoughts were clouded by anger, sadness, and frustration

Her heartbreak had taken over, and she no longer had the strength or determination to figure out who had sent the photos.

A week had passed since everything with Silas had spiraled out of control. The stress of managing everything had weighed heavily on me. Between keeping an eye on Silas and ensuring the spies I had placed in the Snowtooth pack were doing their job, it felt like I barely had a moment to breathe.

But today, I had set aside time to visit Branwen. I needed to talk to him about something important.

When I arrived at Branwen's house, I was immediately greeted by the sound of laughter and tiny footsteps.

Joanne and Joey, were in the living room, playing with blocks.

Their faces lit up as soon as they saw me, and without a second thought, they ran toward me, their little arms wide open, ready to jump into my 10:59

embrace

"Mom" they cried in unison, their excitement filling the room.

I couldn't help but smile, feeling a warm rush of love for them.

I bent down to scoop them up, and they both wrapped their arms around me, showering me with kisses.

Their happiness was contagious, and for a moment, it felt like everything else in my life faded away.

"Hello, my little troublemakers," I teased, tickling both of them.

Joanne and Joey giggled uncontrollably, their faces turning red with laughter. After a few moments, I set them down gently and spoke softly.

right, you two. Go play in your rooms for a bit, okay? I'll be here all night with you, I promise."

Their eyes lit up even more at the mention of spending the evening with them.

Without another word, they kissed me on the cheek and scampered off to their rooms, excited to continue their playtime.

Once I was sure they were settled, I turned to Branwen, who had been watching the interaction with a fond smile.

He was always so good with the children, and it made me feel grateful for everything he did for me.

I walked over to him and gave him a quick hug. "Thank you for looking after them while I've been so busy. I'm sorry I haven't had more time for them."

He patted my back gently, his tone reassuring. "Don't apologize. They love having you here, and I know how important everything else is right now."

I nodded, feeling a brief wave of guilt. But there was no time to dwell on it. I had more pressing matters to attend to.
